Elder Scrolls V possibly set 200 years after Oblivion

  • Comment
It seems Waterstones, the famous book sellers, might have dropped the ball on the Elder Scrolls V. In a blurb for the new Elder Scrolls book by Greg Keyes, The Elder Scrolls: Infernal City, the page editor put up this interesting tidbit:

A novel that takes place forty-five years after the Oblivion Crisis, which is the story of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion game and the expansion pack Shivering Isles. It partly bridges the gap for the next game, which is set 200 years after the Oblivion crisis.

It has since been quickly edited out.

Perhaps not the official announcement we're all hoping for but still, it's an unofficial something. Not that we can be worried that there won't be another Elder Scrolls game, just worried about when.

I also dislike the Oblivion AI, sometimes it just annoys me.

Like somebody said, I hope you can be king/queen/count and get money and stuff.
Anyone ever played Summoner 2? You play as a Queen and there are things like petitions where people come to you and ask you for money in return for some sort of reward. I think something like this would be good in TES V.

i know this is a bt old, but i hated how summoner to did the summoner. YOu no longer summoned, but instead transformed into the freaking creatures. so I just played the queen as a necromancer lol.

Well, it's been announced to be set in Skyrim although I'm not sure whether it will be set 200 years after oblivion or not; the trailer and announcements didn't really say. Nords with guns could be interesting to say the least...

I would like it if our non-quest-related choices affect the world just like our quest-related choices did in Oblivion. For example, if you break into a major shipping company and kill the owner to get his key, it will interrupt trade all over the province, causing prices to go up, and rare items to spawn less often in shops. This doesn't even need to be something scripted, it can just be part of the AI. If the owner of the shipping company is dead, he won't be able to fulfill his daily routine, which includes ordering more goods for the company.

For another example, Deliveries will be made to shops by delivery men from storehouses, but if you kill all the delivery men, no one will be able to deliver the items, so the shops will be empty until more delivery people are hired/respawned.

MY SYNOPSIS(I think thats what its called or in other words IMO)Conspiracy? No its not im just using psycology lol.

When you think about it, Bethesda must be making TES5. Bethesda developped fallout 3, released some mods, then announced new vegas. Then, they have Obsidian working on New Vegas. Before it is released, bethesda says that they aren't developping any elder scrolls games IN THE ->NEAR<- future. While rage is being done,
they have a couple of staff working on TES5. Why so few, you ask? To keep things under the radar. If Bethesda has Obsidian working on New Vegas, Rage would be done by now. As soon as Rage gets released, Bethesda goes quiet....by August 2011/12(Guess?), they show trailer showing the game, which is already almost finished. The game is then play tested by developpers and (possibly) noteworthy modders of Fallout and TES. Although the game is on 360/PS3, The version is highly limited with a less detailed worldspace and lower graphics. However, realizing the potential for the PC, they expand the game and release for the first DLC, an interesting questline involving the fate of the Empire itself. However, for the last DLC pack, lets face it. They introduce the continent of Akavir, in all its glory and mystery. Finally, Nirn is a complete world and is completely detailed in all it was meant to be.
Although the world is in a fairly stable condition, the problems are on higher levels, that are more dangerous then they appear.

Well, thats how i think its gonna turn out,

If you have something you think should be on here, PM me with it please! -No guns please-

Some definite new features(Comon Bethesda do it!):
    -Dual Wielding
    -Horse Combat
    -More Advanced Law System
-New Usage for Magic / New Magic system
-Ability to arise to any position within Tamriel, be it a beggar or the Emperor.
-Detailed landscape featuring every province in twice the detail as TES4
-Magical Machinery(200 years now), which is operated through controlling the magic within the machine
-New types of ranged weapon like throwing knives, crossbows, javelins, and possible common items you can find anywhere.
-New styles of combat, and each type of weapon requires different techniques
(don't expect tofight the same way with a dagger as you do with a longsword, for example)
-More unique and personallized enemies, creatures, and animals

Woo posting in a horribly old thread! The conspiracy theorist in me says Bethesda says these things to spur talk, then reads all the forums for ideas, free stuffs.

I enjoyed the character Maia from Summoner 2. Not only did she have responsibilities, but they didn't render her looking like a Barbie doll. A role like that would indeed be nice in the next TES game. I've started the last two in jail; now it's time for something different.
