World of Tanks Nexus Launched

Welcome to World of Tanks Nexus! If you are new to the Nexus community then we're a 10 year old modding community focusing on specific games, including the Elder Scrolls series, Fallout series, Dragon Age series, Witcher Series, Mount & Blade series, Neverwinter Nights series and now, World of Tanks! We've got more than 3.5 million members, over 22,000 of whom are mod authors who have chosen to share their work with others on the Nexus sites, so we're no strangers to modding our games.

I've been playing World of Tanks for almost a year now under the name iPokeTanksWithSpoons on the EU servers, with around 3,500 battles to my name across the beta and the full game. I got all the way up to a Maus in the beta and I'm now steadily working my way up to a T-54 and a IS-7 in the full game, so I'm no stranger to the World of Tanks!

I've recently begun to play World of Tanks with friends, forming a platoon and rushing out there to destroy tanks, and I noticed that most of them were using mods and skins in their game. Despite being a prolific modder and owning a large modding community I'd never put two-and-two together and thought that World of Tanks would have any mods. How wrong was I!

After spending some time on the official forums I noticed there's a whole wealth of mods and skins for the game, everything from new cursors and icons to tank skins and HD mini-maps. I love to see how creative the community can be. Unfortunately I also noticed that a lot of the files are all over the place, with most being hosted on free hosts like RapidShare or MediaFire. As such, it's really hard to find what mods and skins are out there for World of Tanks as there's no centralised repository for the files (at least, there aren't any in English, and I don't speak Russian!). The World of Tanks community is extremely multi-cultural, and it's played extensively in Europe by all sorts of nationalities, perhaps more than most other games, so the community can tend to be slightly disjointed.

Our focus at the Nexus is to make uploading and managing mods by mod authors as easy as finding and downloading mods for mod users. Everything is stream-lined and efficient, and it's much easier than getting your own webspace and mucking about with FTP clients and HTML. If you're a mod author then all you need is a Nexus account to get started adding your files. You control every aspect of your file sharing, and it's all instant so you don't have to wait for us to put it up on the sites. If you're here to download mods then the best place to start is in the file database.

I'll continue to refine the file categories and tags available as the site is used by others, but if you have any recommendations please let me know. If you're in need of help with using the site you can either use our forums or the contact form to ask for assistance, or you might find what you're looking for in our Wiki.

I really look forward to seeing what the modding community can come up with for World of Tanks, and I'm glad I can offer this service to this great game.

Dark0ne, are you still playing this game?

I've gotten myself addicted to this game since I first started a few months ago. I'm playing in the NA server, on the German tech tree. Currently need about 500,000 credits for the Tiger P. Working my way to the Maus. It's a really fun game but it takes a certain amount of patience. A lot of COD-hoppers won't like the slower pace but it's a great game for strategists.

would love to know if there's any way to find out who bans you on World of Tanks and if they have a method to deal with a ban. can't log in the site to respond and was banned by two greifers teamkilling when they killed two team mates,, attacked a 3rd and myself.. and I killed them.. they reported me and had me banned.. I have no idea how to respond or even how you DO ban.

It is so nice to see this. That Nexus start to run more websites.
I think this is a nice addition to all the nexus sides. I hope we finde lots of ppl that want to add there Skins and Mods to WoT Nexus. (I will tell them all about ^^)

I think there should be a forum sektion for WoT, right? Did I miss it? (maybe better add that?!)

Would be nice to tell ppl about possibilities to read or compare there statts, like on this sides:

(I hope it is allowed to post the links)

(This app shows the contents of your locally cached WoT dossier data)
    http://wot-dossier.appspot.com/

(Here you can compare the statistics of two players)
    http://wot-news.com/index.php/stat/compare/eu
