The Rise of the Tribe Unmourned

Introduction

The Resistible Rise of the Tribe Unmourned by Master Sam is a great quest mod for Morrowind. I was saddened to learn that the mod would be left in a permanent beta state. Fortunately, Master Sam granted me permission to update the mod myself. Fast forward several years and this update was also left abandoned for a few years. I have returned once more though, and updated the mod, splitting it into three distinct versions:
  • The Resistable Edition, strictly following Master Sam's intention for the mod with only dialogue fixes and bug fixes included.
  • The Crown Edition, a significant overhaul that takes the original idea and applies my own darker theme and writing.
  • The Classic Edition, for those who came to love the old version I originally released, despite being a bit all over the show.

What is the Story?

Dagoth Ur has been defeated, but the continued presence of the the Tribe Unmourned still poses a threat to Morrowind. The Shadow of Ur has arrived with a sinister plot to resurrect Dagoth Ur. But hope is not lost, a new Spymaster for the Blades has arrived in Ebonheart; here to help the Nerevarine in their new struggle. With the aid of the Blades, the Nerevarine will finally be able put an end to the Sixth House's foul embrace over Morrowind once and for all.

Features

  • Face off against Dagoth Azaria the Shadow of Ur.
  • Experience a new questline that succeeds the death of Dagoth Ur.
  • Build your outpost for the Blades under the command of Spymaster Jacyinth.
  • Hunt down a long forgotten Dwemer artifact in a race against the Tribe Unmourned.
  • Find the Lost Tomb of St. Nerevar and retrieve your predecessor's ancient armor. (Classic Edition Exclusive)
  • Obey Peryite, the Taskmaster's command to hunt down a traitor in a brand new Daedric quest. (Classic Edition & Resistable Edition Exclusive)

Editions

Resistable Edition: This is The Resistable Rise of the Tribe Unmourned, in the vision of Master Sam. This edition requires Better Bodies. A lot of the assets used are quite aged, and the characters are quite light-hearted. I would suggest reading his pinned comment. It is beautiful how much planning he put into this project. This edition may best suit a playthrough that uses other vintage mods for Morrowind. This version is incompatible with Morrowind Rebirth, and Blades Quest: Prophecy of the Lost Heir. You can start playing by talking to a Dreamer that you may find on your travels.

Crown Edition: This edition is the mod rewritten by yours truly. I took a lot from the original mod itself, but wrote the story from the ground-up, using assets that I thought fit, replacing characters, and cutting a lot of content that I did not thought fit. The overall idea was to tell a darker themed story that could seamlessly fit in with vanilla, and can be played as an addendum to the main quest in Morrowind. The screenshots attached to this mod page use this edition. The reason for the name will be revealed in a later project. This version is incompatible with Morrowind Rebirth, and Blades Quest: Prophecy of the Lost Heir. You can start playing by talking to an *Imperial* Guard or Blades after defeating Dagoth Ur. Note there is a three week wait after this for immersion's sake. If you want to skip this, type "Journal CS_Blades01 20" into your console menu.

Classic Edition: This edition is what I would warn other mod creators exactly what not to do. This is what The Rise of the Tribe Unmourned originally was when I "revised" Master Sam's version. I took a lot of Master Sam's work, and experimented with it to make my own abomination which I uploaded to the nexus. It is somewhere in the middle of the two editions and gets confused about what sort of mod it wants to be. However I can't deny the downloads. This is the version people likely know and love, so I patched it up further. It is natively compatible with Morrowind Rebirth, and has patches for both LGNPC Tel Uvirith and Blades Quest: Prophecy of the Lost Heir. You can start playing by talking to a Guard, Blades, or a Dreamer after defeating Dagoth Ur.

I hope you enjoy this nifty mod,
- Caeris.
