About this mod

A new custom class—the Relic Hunter—comes with skills tailored to tomb exploration and artifact recovery. Over 90 ancestral tombs now feature unique urns that trigger guardian encounters for added immersion. Over 30 quests to retrieve specific relics. Regular urns may contain more than just Bonemeal.

Relic Hunter

Note: This is a re-work of Waresified Urns with the additions of 30+ quests and a new class.

You can be an avid tomb raider looking for relics and artifacts to use or to sell.
You can be respectful of the Dunmer traditions and only retrieve relics at the descendants' behest.

Features

Relic Hunter is a role-playing and gameplay enhancement mod centered around Vvardenfell’s ancestral tombs.

1. Unique Urns in 90+ Tombs
Defeat the guardian to claim a family heirloom. You can return it to a descendant for a reward, sell it for profit, or keep it for yourself.
Open the urn to claim their treasures and to summon guardians (level 5–15), the guardians also scale in difficulty with your character (scripted)

2. Heirloom Quests
- Choose your stance on tomb raiding via the "Ancestral Tombs" dialogue topic to enable the quests or not.
Note: The unique urns and their guardians are enabled regardless.
- NPCs will offer quests based on your choice. This adds a lore-friendly way to enter tombs at the descendants' behest.
- Return heirlooms for gold—reward scales from 1× to 2× heirloom value depending on your Mercantile skill.

3. Immersive Guardians
NPCs claim spirits guard the tombs' treasures—and now they do!
The Guardians' bodies go poof, leaving only the heirloom.

4. Regular urns loot overhaul
The urns' loot integrates seamlessly with Wares leveled lists, so the items you find can vary depending on your modlist. Accessories might be vanilla, or they might come from Tamriel_Data, OAAB, or any other Wares-aware mods you have installed.
  • Ingredients – 100% chance (commonly Bonemeal)
  • Gold – 60% (0-16 septims)
  • Bones – 50%
  • Accessories  – 20%
  • Gemstones – 10%
  • Soul Gems – 15%
  • Cantrips, Spellbooks, Runes – 5% chance with Arcane Implements – Cantrips, Spellbooks and Runes installed (not required)
  • Scrolls – 5%
  • Enchanted Items – 2%

5. Relic Hunter Class
Description: Relic Hunters are agile and stealthy explorers who scour ancient tombs, forgotten ruins, and long-lost shrines in search of valuable artifacts. With a keen eye for traps and hidden secrets, they excel at sneaking past danger, disabling mechanisms, and unlocking the mysteries of the past. Combining light weaponry and subtle magic with nimble acrobatics, they are quick to avoid danger—and even quicker to make a profit.
Favored Attributes: Agility, Endurance
Major Skills: Sneak, Security, Long Blade, Illusion, Restoration
Minor Skills: Light Armor, Mysticism, Mercantile, Acrobatics, Unarmored

Installation and Compatibility
Required Tamriel_Data and Wares (only the esm)
- Use your preferred mod manager (Vortex is not recommended for Morrowind) or extract the files into your Data Files folder
- Compatible with OpenMW and MWSE
- Compatible with mods that change tomb urn loot, as long as you merge objects (you'll get loot from both mods) or load the mod you want to "win" the conflict last to override others.
Note: The placement of the new unique urns is designed for vanilla tombs. If you use mods that drastically overhaul tomb layouts, some urns might not appear or could be misplaced (floating or embedded in walls). But don’t worry—there are still 91 other tombs to loot

Not compatible with Loot Well Urn, which this mod overhauls and expands upon.

Recommended Mods

Ahead of the Classes – Provides starting items and spells tailored to the Relic Hunter class.
Arcane Implements - Learn Cantrips from scrolls, spells from spellbooks, and summon things from Oblivion with Daedric Runes.

- MWSE - Revered Dead – Adds a variety of social consequences for plundering ancestral tombs.
OR
Sepulchral Curses – Makes robbing tombs and barrows harder by adding a chance of summoning a random angry undead/elemental daedra when opening burial containers. Same as Revered Dead without the dialogue and fence mechanics.
Urnlings – A new creature for ancestral tombs. Seemingly a pot at first glance, but draw too close and they'll pop out to get you!
Uncharted Artifacts – Introduces treasure maps that lead to hidden shipwrecks and artifacts

Credits
- Pseunomix – for Loot Well Urned, which added and placed the unique urns with heirlooms in them. I scripted the urns and removed the heirloom, tweaked the rest of the loot, tweaked or added new heirlooms, and implemented the guardians who drop the heirloom.
- Merlord - For inspiration, we discussed this mod a lot :)
