About the mod:
"I give you a 'King's Oath' blade -- exactly like those used by the Royal Guard. Only those sworn to the king's service and tested by great trials may use them. They bear deadly curses that kill thieves and traitors. I salute you, and welcome you into our brotherhood. And there's one last official matter. Go to Lady Barenziah. She's asked to speak with you." - Tienius Delitian, Captain of the Royal Guard
This mod is a pretty simple mod that gives King's Oath blades to most of the named Royal Guards. Helseth's Royal Guards are said to use this blade (or at least the most accomplished among them), but you never see them use it. Now, there's possibly good reasons for them to not have this blade. First, it's a Daedric weapon, which implies high rarity (and people already complain about proliferation of Daedric weapons in the game). Second, the enchantment of the base weapon harms the user (to quote Delitian again: "They bear deadly curses that kill thieves and traitors.") with self-inflicted fire damage. Still despite these things, I thought,"Ah, why the hell not make a mod for this anyways?". And so I did.
This mod has its own version of the King's Oath blade to get around the self-damage issue (the self-fire damage has been removed, but the enchantment still costs the same amount. Tell me if you'd like me to add a version with a scripted "curse" to players who have not be recognized by Delitian). I also said I only gave the blades to most of the named Royal Guards: Delitian (who basically has his own, better version of KIng's Oath in Gravedigger) and Karrod (who's technically not part of the faction and also needs to keep his "Odd Dwemer Weapon") do not get it. Also, none of the generic, respawning Royal Guards get the blades either.
Requirements:
Morrowind.esm and Tribunal.esm only.
Installation/Playing the Mod:
Download the mod, put the .esp in your Data Files folder, and then activate the .esp in the mod organizer of your choice. Then launch the game. It's really simple and no different from playing many other mods.
Compatibility:
This mod is incompatible with any mods that edit the NPC records of most of the named Royal Guards (with the exception of Tienius Delitian and Karrod as previously mentioned). I might make a version compatible with mort's Tribunal Rebalanced mod if there's demand. This is compatible with any mods that edit the base King's Oath weapon and enchantment records --- I decided to make my own for this mod.
Uninstallation:
Either delete the mod's .esp or deactivate it in your preferred mod organizer. It's quite the same as uninstalling many other mods.
