This mod is a rather simple one, albeit somewhat wide in scope. It replaces many respawn flagged actors with leveled creatures. Now, the name is a bit of a misnomer here: most of these leveled creatures are not leveled and most of them always spawn an actor. Still, leveled creatures have their advantages over the respawn flag. For starters, it's more reliable and less likely to bug out (actors' respawn flag does work rather well, but it's possible to bug it out). It also allows these actors to reset if displaced. Finally, it allows some randomization and variety in the spawns. Leveled creatures have their quirks as well, but I overall prefer them for generic respawning actors.
This mod does not replace some quest specific and/or unique respawning actors with leveled creatures. Pre-placed respawning actors are persistent, so they have their purpose and advantages in these cases. I also made sure to place the leveled creatures near where the replaced actors used to be.
The mod's current modules are:
- Leveled Creature Dreamers: Replaces most of the generic, respawning Dreamers with leveled creature spawns. Added a bit more variety in female Dreamers so they're less repetitive.
- Leveled Creature Vampires: Makes the generic, respawning vampires leveled creatures. Might lead to a more varied or a more repetitive experience with them depending on your luck.
- Morrowind Misc. Leveled Creatures: Makes the respawning entrance skeletons and kwama workers, well, you know. Also replaced the singular instance of a pre-placed kwama forager with a leveled creature as well.
- Tribunal Leveled Creatures: Replaced the respawning liches, goblins, durzogs, and fabricants with the usual. Also replaced most of the generic rats with leveled creatures. It seems to me that Bethesda was too lazy to make a leveled creature for rats without blighted ones, so I took it upon myself to do it. This is the only spawn type that is leveled and does not always spawn an actor. Also, some of the generic rats can still be permanently cleared.
- Bloodmoon Leveled Creatures: Replaces the snow wolves/bears with leveled creatures. Funnily enough, nothing else needed to be replaced for this expansion (so far).
- Leveled Creature Guards: Makes most of the generic, respawning guards in vanilla Morrowind leveled creature spawns. The usual. Some cells with a lot of male Redoran guards had one of the spawns replaced with one that can spawn either a male or female guard.
- Tribunal Leveled Creature Guards: Makes most of the generic, respawning guards in Tribunal leveled creature spawns. We're all used to this by now. (:
- Bloodmoon Leveled Creature Guards: Makes most of the generic, respawning guards in Bloodmoon leveled creature spawns. Talk about beating a dead horse. :')
Requirements:
Morrowind.esm for all modules. Tribunal.esm for the Tribunal modules, and the same with Bloodmoon.esm for its modules.
Installation/Playing the Mod:
Download the mod folder, put the .esp(s) you want to use in your Data Files folder, and activate the .esp(s) in the mod organizer of your choice. Then launch the game. It's really simple and no different from playing many other mods.
Uninstallation:
Either delete your chosen .esp or deactivate it in your preferred mod organizer. It's quite the same as uninstalling many other mods.
Compatibility:
This replaces many vanilla spawns in many cells. Chances of incompatibility with other mods is certainly possible. Feel free to edit the mods to your liking to make it compatible with you load order. Or just feel free to make requests. This mod might also revive killed actors in a save, but since most of them would respawn anyways, it shouldn't be too much of an issue IMO.
The guard spawn replacers are separate files to better maintain compatibility with guard diversity and replacer mods. This mod simply replaces them with leveled creatures, others may actually make them more diverse.
