This is basically a proof of concept mod.
A few years ago I posed a question on a couple of game forums.
Do you think AI will be able to write new content for us?
The consensus at the time was possibly but not any time soon.
Well it seems like any time soon is now!
Okay this is just a very simple quest but the input was also very basic, I just asked:
"Write a story and dialogue for a basic Morrowind quest."The full output from ChatGPT can be read in the readme section.
This only took ChatGPT a couple of minutes to output. It then only took me less than an hour to implement, so don’t expect this to be earth shattering.
I only changed the location, Balmora is already overcrowded, and the item to a family heirloom, to save creating a new mesh.
So how long before AI is used to create complex and fun quests for us?
Maybe it already has... but no one is saying!
