The Buoyant Armigers

What's in it?

The Buoyant Armigers are looking for new recruits. Potential candidates must be both Temple and Redoran - ask members of those factions for latest rumours.

Hopefully this will provide more reason to explore the underused Red Mountain area, as in the base game the only real motivation was for the main quest. Most of the quests take place in either Red Mountain or Molag Amur - though there are some quests taking you elsewhere.

I would strongly recommend this for players who have done a bit of both Redoran and Temple quests/pilgrimages. Some parts of this mod will be unavailable until some (particularly Temple) quests are complete. I wanted it to be a fairly lore accurate representation of the Buoyant Armigers, and they certainly won't allow just any person to join such an elite order. These might be quite high bars to clear for people wanting a bit of quick extra content, but it would have been a compatibility nightmare to introduce an actual Buoyant Armiger faction (all existing Buoyant Armigers are Temple faction, and all the support hangers-on are Redoran, so there is clearly a huge overlap between the two groups), so I feel  what I have done makes sense in terms of lore: they are elite Temple warriors drawn from the ranks of the Redoran.

Note that all the content is locked off if you are either the head of Redoran or the Temple.

The "three days and nights" opening quest may not make much sense unless you have Ashfall installed. But if you do have Ashfall installed then it's genuinely going to be quite a challenge. I know Ashfall is not available to OpenMW users, but nevertheless.. I can't imagine Morrowind without it, so that quest has been created with Ashfall users in mind.

New Buoyant Armiger armour included - from Aoimevelho.

Requirements:
OAAB Data
Tamriel Data

---

Installation:
Place the files into the Data folder and activate the ESP.

---

Compatibility:
Main version not compatible with Red Mountain Reborn. However, there is now a version included (made by Alusan) that is compatible. Use that ESP instead.

It is compatible with BCOM (as far as I am aware..) as I have not made any cell edits to Ghostgate or Molag Mar.

Mod recommendations:
Pass time while reading (makes the joining quest potentially more interesting!): https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/48059
Devilish Red Mountain (because it makes it look so much better, and it sticks to the vanilla layout): https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/53473
The Great Scathes: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/52971
Ashfall (really necessary IMO: makes expeditions into the hostile landscape inside the Ghostfence more testing): https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/49057
The Blight (makes exploring Red Mountain a much more dangerous proposition): https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/49504
Realistic Repair (makes exploring Red Mountain more interesting when it is impossible to repair your gear): https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46673
Shattered Stones (because it's just really atmospheric to have earthquakes in certain areas!): https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45105
Shattered Stones - Red Mountain addon: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/53125

Acknowledgements:
Zixi for playtesting. Thank you!
Alusan for alternate RMR version.
The TR Data and OAAB Data teams.
Aoimevelho for the Buoyant Armiger armour.
The Indexes of Morrowind mod - I have used their Red Mountain map, as the "map" in the base game wasn't actually a map. This mod no longer seems available anywhere, so I don't know who to credit. Good mod though.
The UESP Wiki. Really useful for planning quest stuff without actually having to be in the CS or game!
