How to start

Find a shack south-east of Ebonheart and talk to the Breton there. Be sure to check out the surroundings - they might hint at something useful!
Once you've got the cube, either equip it or press Shift+H to roll the dice.
Generally speaking, if your Luck is low, the action will be negative, and vice versa. Be prepared!

What to expect

Let's say you have very low luck and you are looking at a locked container while rolling the dice. Chances are, it will be locked even more! But boost your luck and try the same later, and it the lock level might decrease, and if your luck is high enough, it will just open.

The more luck, the more positive actions, and better the magnitude. For example, if your fatigue is damaged, if you are successful, you might receive a cheap ingredient, a reasonable potion, or a poten scroll, and eventually, your fatigue will be healed immediately. All depending on Luck and a bit of chance.

With each use, the chance withers, and at a certain point the cube will have no charge (like enchantments) and you will have to wait until the next day to use it again. This is a risk - if you have used it a few times already and try again, it might backfire, or give you a less favourable reward.

If no specific condition is detected, a random one will trigger, and there's also a small chance of this happening with every roll. If you're underwater and roll the dice, you might, based on Luck and a bit of pure chance, either receive a boost to your aquatic finesse, a malus that will make it harder to navigate underwater, or, if the gods so desire, be flung high into the air instead. Who knows?
