3ds max 5 quick setup for Morrowind NIF export/import
_________________________________________________________ Morrowind uses .NIF files to store 3dmodels/animations With 3ds Max, you can create 3dmodels/animations. 3ds Max requires "NIF-exporter" plugins, so you can export your work into .NIF format which Morrowind can use. 3ds Max requires "NIF-importer" plugins, so you can import existing NIF files into 3ds max to further edit them.
For Morrowind, 3ds max 5 version is optimal, available here or here The needed plugins are attached in 'Morrowind NIF plugins' folder. 3ds Max 5 is a 20 year old program, but very good to create Morrowind models/animations. if you can use it. Blender is a good alternate choice if you have problems with 3dsMax. https://blender-morrowind.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
