this is great, i like the daedric masks in particular

would you consider doing a version of this mod that was hoods + masks so as to be compatible with openmw or non mwse setups? you could use existing hood resources and just pair them as you see fit to make new light/heavy pieces, but i would understand wanting to leave something like this to users

Its possible to do, I might do it at some point, but probably not for a while. Anyone who wants to do it themselves and upload is free to do so.

OpenMW user here, I'll do it in a couple of days. Which hood resource should be used? https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/50980 ?

What heads is this mod designed to be used with? It clips through the face of dunmer on betterfaces, but it clips through even more on vanilla models...

I've toyed with the .lua quite a lot now, to fit the vanilla dunmer female, the wrap-type face masks need to be set at around .6 rather than the -.5 that's it set at by default, which puts in deep into their face. The respirator-type ones need to be set at around 0.4 (it's also set to -.5 by default) to fit on the nose correctly, but the leather part clips through the cheeks so it's broken as well. Really curious why it was made this way.

Pic is the default dunmer female with betterfaces turned off, and the glasses (from another mod, I think same author, but it also is clipping through the nose and eyelids) and dark brotherhood mask from this mod with default settings with it's severe clipping.

it was designed to work with vanilla heads, and it works just fine with them, or at least it did the last time i checked. it's possible that an update to onion threw something off. If you want to make adjustments for other head mods you can change the positions in lua, if they still don't fit then you can try slightly increasing the scale factor, i did that so that the masks fit the orcs.

The only way to patch it properly would be to do each race and gender by hand, make a new character for each type, change the numbers a little, load, check, modify, over and over again which really isn't worth the effort just for my own game when I don't even play most races and genders. I just uninstalled the fashion mods and the clipping concept art helmets, hopefully the mods get fixed at some point, the models are really nice.

you know you can change race with 'enableracemenu' console code right? what's more there's only a few basic head positions and shapes used among the races. all the masks fit into basically the same position anyway. but they should all fit vanilla heads by default regardless, as you can see in the screenshots. i'll look into it at some point.

I actually didn't know about that console command, but this is useful info. Thank you, if the heads all have universal shapes I may patch it somehow, but I appreciate that you'll look into it.

I really love, these they look so rad! I use openmw however so I was wondering if you'd ever consider releasing a version without the onion/mwse dependency where they just use the helmet slot instead?

for one thing that would make your character bald, for another each item is positioned differently based on the race wearing it, helmets would force it into one position.

I edited the lua file months ago so that these fit on my head replacer wood elf face and that worked great. I'm playing a Nord currently and attempted to add a ["Nord"] section to the facemaskPos part of the lua to do the same, but it seems to have no effect in game. Any clue what I'm doing wrong? I'm not super knowledgeable on this stuff, so apologies if I'm messing up something super stupid and basic!

I'm not really an expert with the code either, If I had to guess I'd suggest you made some kind syntax error somewhere. I'd take the wood elf section that you know definitely works and then try renaming it to Nord, see if that works at least.

Ah yeah, looks like I left some unneeded brackets in place. Oops! Fixed, but then I got the hair bug the guy below had. I'll try and describe the mistake I made quick that caused that for anyone else who runs into the issue: The hair disappearing was caused by leaving out some needed brackets ( } ) after adding the Nord race to the end of the section - make sure to look carefully at how the formatting for the final entry is done in the default main.lua, and replicate it properly. Idk if nexus allows linking images, but if so here's a picture of what my final, fixed version looked like.

Works great, but when i add a custom race, all npcs in the game, including mine, that wear the masks lose their ears and hair as well. Is there anyway to fix this? Thanks!

thats an onion thing, I think there should be a tutorial on the onion mod page. I don't know it myself though.

Hi, great mod. These masks are amazing and was something that I wished was added years ago.

There is just one problem. I tried to adjust the location of masks via main.lua, but this don't seem to work. Given that all masks are slightly offset right from the center and I see your "-0.5" in the main.lua, I suspect that recent update to Onion - Layered Accessories might be causing location adjustment to fail. Similar thing happened way back, when onion framework got updated and author of Fashionwind - MWSE Glasses and Goggles V2 haven't updated lua to be compatible with newer version of onion framework (Edit: just learned that YOU were one the authors of Fashionwind lol).

Also, it might be helpful to add Onion to list of requirements via nexus mod management tool (not in the description).

My game instantly crashes on entering the South Wall Cornerclub when using the mod.
It may be worth noting that I use Galleo Races Redone Pluginless, so I don't know if the masks would even remotely fit.
It looks great though, so I would want to try!
Any idea how to fix it?

I installed Onion and updated MWSE.

That's strange, it must have something to do with Npc merchant, it might have been because I used MWSE edit or it might be something with the mask. I uploaded a new version of the esp which should remove the mwse issues, but if that doesn't solve it uploaded a 2nd optional esp which should brute force fix the problem by removing the mask from the npc.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention

      Hi!
I downloaded the updated esp and for me it all works now :) Didn't need the force fix esp.
They also look pretty cool on the Races Redone faces too!

Such a cool mod, thank you for fixing it this fast :)

I'm very glad to hear that, but I couldn't leave an insta crash bug in my mod haha. It must have been MWEdit after all.

This looks awesome! I've been wanting something like this for so long, you don't even know. I am so excited!

Question though, can these be worn with the goggles from your other Fashionwind mod? Or is it only one or the other?

Fantastic! For a long time, I've wanted to be able to put on goggles and a mask when an ashstorm blows in, without necessarily covering my whole head. Seems like my dreams have finally come true!

yup, total cosmetic customization is the main idea behind fashionwind. I have a few more releases planned too.
