Monument to a Forgotten Hero

An obelisk stands on an islet at the northern edge of Vvardenfell. Likely built by the Nords who first settled the Sheogorad, its meaning has long been lost, and now it's only a curiosity to the residents of nearby Dagon Fel. But something still lurks there. Travelers would do well to stay away.

Overview:

This mod adds to Morrowind a new landmark, a unique combat enounter there, some armor, and a weapon. The weapon and landmark are based on the Dragonslayer's Crescent Axe and the Majula obelisk from Dark Souls 2.

The Location
It's an islet north of Dagon Fel. More specific directions: travel to Dagon Fel and swim north to the nearby island, just opposite the harbor, where Andre Maul's Dwemer tower is located. Go to the northern beach of that island, then swim northeast and you'll reach the islet.

The Combat
The fight in this mod should be only slightly tougher than a Golden Saint, doable by mid to high level characters.

The Weapon
The Crescent Axe is a two-handed weapon. It's better than the steel, Dwemer, and Orcish two-handers, but worse than the Nordic silver axe from Bloodmoon, and much worse than the Daedric battle axe. Detailed stats are included in the mod images so that you can decide for yourself if you want to go in and change it up.

Extras
  • Just The Axe: If you just want an axe and don't want to faff about with anything else, download the optional "just the axe" file and skip the main file. Once it's installed and you're in-game, open the console(~) and enter "player->additem dso_crescentAxe 1".
  • Bigger Axe! There are two different models for the Crescent Axe. Version A is scaled to the size of vanilla Morrowind's two-handed axes. Version B is scaled larger, to be closer to the weapon's appearance in Dark Souls. Morrowind's axes are quite small, but that allows you to actually see what you're wielding in 1st person view. So version A might feel better for 1st person play, while version B might feel better for 3rd person. Comparison screenshots are included in the mod images.
  • Groundcover: Grass add-ons for Remiros' groundcover and Aesthesia groundcover are included.

Installation:

Unzip the folder, drag and drop the contents from "main files" into Morrowind\Data Files, and activate the .esp in whichever launcher you use.
  • Axe version B: drag and drop the contents from "optional files\axe version b" into Morrowind\Data Files
  • The groundcover plug-ins require you to have already downloaded files for the respective groundcover mod. The .ESPs are installed IN ADDITION TO the default groundcover plug-ins for those mods, not in place of them.

Compatibility:

All world edits have been kept to cell [8, 25].
