No matter what I do, I cannot get the Blighted Nix Hound texture to work with PB's Nix Hound Replacer. Instead of showing the Blighted texture on Blighted Nix Hounds, it just shows the regular unblighted texture.
Same is true of the included Cliff Racer mesh and texture; only ever uses the non-blighted texture, never the blighted one.
am on OpenMW0.47
EDIT: I found out that Bob's Diverse Blood mod was causing the models to not use the blighted textures. So not a problem with your mod thankfully.
When comparing the upscales against OAAB_Data 1.16.0 I did notice that some of the textures mostly bloated texture size without giving any kind of visual improvement, so I ended up disabling some of the upscaled textures. As listed below.
Note: overly large textures use unnecessary amounts of VRAM, which can lead to in-game stuttering, if textures need to be frequently unloaded and reloaded into VRAM, which happens if the textures memory size used, exceeds the size of the VRAM (this is similar to Virtual Memory swapping & trashing).
dr_tx_canvass_03.dds OAAB_Data 1.16.0 is already the same size as upscale tx_b_n_breton_m_hair04.dds OAAB_Data 1.16.0 is already the same size as upscale tx_lava_solid.dds OAAB_Data 1.16.0 is already the same size as upscale
dr_tx_canvasscap_03.dds Used with dr_tx_canvass_03.dds as canvas roll end cap, having this the same size as dr_tx_canvass_03.dds is excessive, considering the cap is a small part of the canvas roll
st_metal_rolledsteel.dds both version look much the same tx_book_edge_bov4.dds very marginally better when zoomed in tx_book_edge_bov3.dds very marginally better when zoomed in
tr_wood_de_rm.dds very marginally better when zoomed in tx_r_herne_leg5.dds very marginally better when zoomed in, excessive x4 upscale tx_ScampWax.dds very marginally better when zoomed in, used for candles that are fairly small objects so the OAAB_DATA sized texture is probably fine
The following armor upscales, had no noticeable effect in-game (on a 4K display) when comparing screen shots. Texture differences are only noticeable when zoomed in, but in-game you'll never get close enough unless you use console commands like "tcl" to get super close:
B_Wood_Elf_F_H01.dds upscale looks a bit odd fabric_burgundy_01.dds upscale looks a bit odd - "hairy" tx_corprus_growth.dds difference not that noticeable tx_corprus_membrane.dds difference not that noticeable tx_corprus_pustule.dds difference not that noticeable sg_OR_writeAlfa3.dds upscale looks a bit odd - has black outline around text
I have to agree that some of them don't really look better than the original ones. However, what's worse is that they don't have mipmaps, which leads to flickering ingame. Use a tool like Optimizer Textures to fix this.
Are there any plans to cover more creature replacers with the blight mod? And I agree with the comment below, I stumbled upon this by accident and then had a hard time finding it again. I'm happy I did, though
This mod is really good but I must add that the name is kind of misleading, most minor mod compilations are mostly small a collection of small tweaks and miscellaneous things but I think each of these mods are significant enough to warrant their own page, with maybe the exception of the blight creatures one. Perhaps you could rename it to something that would make it easier for people to find? something that lets people know that these mods are upscales of several popular mods? I just think it would be a shame for such an excellent mod to be overlooked.
One other thing I noticed was that you upscaled the vanilla version of my adamantium armor, or at least the frills. (maybe that was included in the original vanilla wearables mod) I have a better version of that texture in the main file of my ceremonial adamantium armor.
Esrgan + Cupscale (a more convenient Esrgan interface), they are pretty easy to use, the only difficulty is picking the right model for the right textures.
