    Anyone who downloaded ILFAS from July 8 through July 16 2022 should update to version 1.2.
    Version 1.1 of this mod included a buggy version of meshes/x/terrain_lava_vent.nif which causes Morrowind.exe to crash as soon as a cell containing it is loaded. In particular, this causes a consistent crash in Suran, and when exploring in the Ashlands.

    So what causes this issue - the candle seems to not do anything in this spot.
    I have ILFA loaded like so (last in folder order)

    data="/home/cl3v3r/Morrowind/Data_Files/Mods/V/ILFAS/00 Core"
    data="/home/cl3v3r/Morrowind/Data_Files/Mods/V/ILFAS/01 Smoke and Steam Emitters"
    data="/home/cl3v3r/Morrowind/Data_Files/Mods/E/Project-Atlas/08 ILFAS Patch"

      This looks like a problem with a texture mod (or a mesh replacer mod) that affects the wall mesh in the background. It's unrelated to ILFAS.

    Would I load your mod before or after "Apels Fire Retexture (https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/42554)" and "Silverware Repolished (https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46385)" ? I tried to load "High Poly" candles after your mod but it removed the flames from the candles so that had to go

      It depends on which mod’s effect you’d rather have. Ideally someone will make compatibility patches for ILFAS and other light mesh replacers, but until then you have to pick and choose.

      ILFAS makes a small change to every vanilla light mesh. Those other mods make big changes to a few specific vanilla light meshes. You probably want ILFAS to load before them, so that they can override it.

      But in that case you lose the effect of the mod ILFAS. I just tested.

      You just have to decide what you want. Higher poly mesh replacers from other mods with vanilla lighting or meshes from this mod which are low poly, same as vanilla, with changes to lighting.

    I have been using ILFAS for 3 months now. Originally in a typical Windows 10 - MGEX Morrowind install - and now (and so much better) running on a Linux with the OpenMW 48 Release Engine for over the last month and a half.

    Any issues I ever had were due to my ignorance or misunderstanding when using other mods like Project Atlas.  Once I carefully read the instructions, those issues were resolved!

    UPDATE: So - everything works now the above glitch is no longer there. I did tweak some lighting  numbers per di.stilled's advice - but my load order remained as posted below:

    :) :) :)

    Hi, I noticed that some candles nif conflict with Project Atlas, so what install order would you recommend? Have a good day.

      Project Atlas has a patch for compatibility with ILFAS. As of today (9th November) the patch meshes are only available on the Project Atlas GitHub page. You can download the files individually from https://github.com/revenorror/Project-Atlas/tree/master/08%20ILFAS%20Patch/meshes/l, or you can wait until Project Atlas is officially updated here on Nexusmods. Either way, the install order should be:
      1. Project Atlas - 00 Core (and whatever other optional components you want)
      2. ILFAS
      3. Project Atlas - 08 ILFAS Patch

    Thanks a bunch for that sticky post. It was KILLING me to try and find out what mod was making me crash in Dagon Fel!

    The latest version of this (1.1) crashes for me when entering the ashlands. I traced it down to `Terrain_lava_vent.NIF`. If I delete that model, the game doesn't crash anymore.

      Thanks. I think I know what the problem is.

    This is nice, but for me the problem is that there are mods that have much nicer looking meshes now for candles. Is there any way to make this work with them?

      If you want to use another mesh replacer which just covers candles, simply load it after this one. When multiple mods replace the same mesh, whichever one loads last wins.

    Great work.

    A lot of light and lighting mods are very much matters of personal taste, but I think this mod is like a new universal recommendation for every mod list, for both the base game and OpenMW.  Kudos to you for covering everything, especially.  Even if somebody likes higher-poly mesh replacers, I don't think there's anything as broad as this out there.

    Thank you so much for making this mod. As an OpenMW user, this will never leave my mod list!
