About this mod

A quick and dirty fix to MacKom's heads disappearing when wearing the Indoril helmet.

Permissions and credits
The Issue:

While wearing a full helmet (a helmet that covers the whole head) Morrowind does not render your head mesh. This isn't usually an issue since in the vanilla game there is still a neck connecting your body to the helmet (although, even in vanilla the Indoril helmet leaves a bit of the head uncovered which means that your neck connects to nothing). If you're using MacKom's heads, the game will not render the neck either which means your helmets will be floating in the air above your body.

What does this mod do exactly?

This mod changes the Indoril helmet to no longer be considered a full helmet, which means that the head will be rendered. To avoid clipping issues the model has been slightly rescaled.

This mod has been tested on a female Dunmer so other races might still have some slight clipping.

"How can I do this with other helmets?"

To do what I just did, but with a different helmet, you first need to open the Construction Set. Once there, you'll need to click on the "body part" tab and locate the helmet's .nif file. Edit it to be a "hair" part instead of a "head" part. Then click on the "armor" tab, find your helmet and, once again, change the field that says "head" to "hair". To the right there should be a second drop down menu. Use it to select the body part you edited earlier. Now save your work as a new plugin and you're done.

To edit the mesh and get rid of clipping you'll need to download NifScope. Load the file you want, click on the node to your left and change the scale (If you know your way around NifScope you can edit individual elements of the mesh or scale only one axis). Don't forget to right-click your mesh and click "Transform > Apply" afterwards. Save the model and that's it. You can put it in a new mod together with the plugin you made earlier.
