i am aware this kind of mod will tend to set off those easily offended by transgender people existing and wanting to customize certain aspects of games to reflect their lived experiences. cope

this mod is intended to neutralize your players gender.  it would not be possible to replicate the various nuances and variety of nonbinary identity (which is largely personal) and is solely a reasonable compromise of complete neutrality. your character will be referred to with “they/them/themself” pronouns (in the few places they are referred to in the 3rd person), and treated by npcs as Neither a man or a woman.  a good deal of dialogue in vanilla morrowind differs based upon the player's chosen sex, and i have neutralized it so that it will be the same (and make sense) regardless of what preset you choose.

When it has come to the choice of having NPCs behave flirtatiously with you or not, I have erred towards having it be based on the personality skill or disposition rather than gender for the most part. Characters who are clearly intended to be strict “””ladies men””” will not flirt with you at all.

this mod is mostly un-tested as it would be kind of a pain in the ass considering how wide-reaching but few effects it has. its mostly just very simple changes that could not possibly cause any issues, but if you run into dialogue from any of these characters being bugged track me down and yell at me about it or something

CHANGES:

male and female have the same base stats for each race rather than slightly different ones (height difference is retained, you can edit it yourself to your liking through console)

ahnassi- uses ‘they’ and gender neutral terms in reference to you. you can do her romance quest regardless of chosen sex.

nels llendo- whether he asks for a kiss or tries to mug you will depend on your personality stat (presumably how attractive you are to him), rather than gender. this is a pretty low check. refers to you gender neutrally either way

dratha- her treatment of you depends on her disposition, but you do not have to pass the checks she does for men. will not gender you as a man or woman, is less enthusiastic about you than she is with women but doesnt hate you as much as men.

erich- neutralized. will not flirt with you at all since he appears to be a ladies-man and extremely heterosexual

.fons beren - will not flirt with you, similar to erich

Synette Jeline- neutral language. Will attempt to seduce you if your personality is high enough, and will opt otherwise if it’s lower

thrud- neutralized

svenja - neutralized

bathmar- neutralized bard song

severia gratis - neutralized

dancing girl- neutralized

beyte fyr- neutralized

tul - neutralized

ingwold - neutralized

alven slas - neutralized

a couple of letters that refer to you as 'he' have been changed to 'they'

DID NOT CHANGE:

the existence of male/female presets in general (which im not sure would be possible or reasonable, given this will have zero effect beyond appearance.)

the “disguise” quest, which has you impersonate a different redoran councilor based on the PC sex variable. in actual gameplay you would have no way of knowing theres a difference, and it never explicitly describes your PC's gender, so i’ve left it out.

i was very thorough but theres a chance ive missed something in a letter or some one-off line of dialogue
