Every time I played Morrowind, it'd always bother me how the Fighters Guild would favor certain combat styles, while turning their noses up on other ones, when not only they're just as viable and fit for a fighter, but also utilized and taught by its members. This mod "fixes" that "issue".
What it does is it changes up the Fighters Guild's favored skills, required to advance in rank, so that now they include Medium Armor and Spear, besides the ones that have already been there. Unfortunately, due to the Construction Set having a hard limit on how many favored skills a faction can have, I had to throw Armorer out of the skill pool. I reckoned this was a good trade-off, since while it is handy for an adventurer to be able to fix their own equipment while on the road, it's not necessarily something I'd consider an essential skill expected of a mercenary fighter.
The mod requires only the base game. Install it by putting it into your Data Files folder and activating it in the launcher/mod manager of your choice. Enjoy!
