About this mod

Very simple mod made with MWSE Lua. 30 minutes of in-game time will pass every time you brew a potion.

Alchemy always felt a bit weird, unbalanced and immersion breaking for me. There are plenty of other issues and other mods which address them, but I couldn't find anything which addressed the fact that alchemy was instantaneous. It became especially jarring if you were using something like the Farmer Mod, since the stacks of agricultural produce could get instantaeously converted into extremely valuable potions, and you'd very quickly have more than any merchants in the game could possibly afford to buy.

All this mod does is advance the in-game time by 30 minutes (a duration chosen somewhat arbitrarily) every time you brew a potion. It also prints a message to the MWSE log because this was my first time making a mod and I wanted to know it was working. Hopefully it works fine & is bug free, but I've not tested it extensively.

If you think 30 minutes is too long or too short, you can change it quite easily by just opening the main.lua file in notepad and changing "0.5" to whatever you like (the unit is hours).

Works especially well with mods like Ashfall or Necessities of Morrowind which add hunger, thirst, and sleep requirements - otherwise time passing is a bit meaningless!

I have no plans to port it to openMW or non-MWSE vanilla Morrowind - I'm not even sure if it would be possible without MWSE, but at any rate I certainly don't have the expertise for it.

And credit to Talking Matters whose code I reverse-engineered to make it work.
