I know the MWSE stuff doesnt work for OpenMW, but would the textures and such still apply?
Only asking cause I tried downloading the original book covers mod from ModHistory via Wayback, but Part 2 + 3 for Morrowind wont download, so I was trying to find an alternative, since I use the Uvirith Legacy mod.

Yep the meshes/textures are pretty much just taken from the original mod (with a couple fixes), but you'll need the plugins from the original.

Could you please do a version for OpenMW with the Lua scripts?

Maybe, eventually. I do plan to port some of my mods to OpenMW-lua at some point, but I haven't looked into it yet and it'll probably be a while.

Would you have any idea on how these book covers could be made compatible with "Mori Mountain Estate"?

That mod includes a nice library with auto sorting. Fiddling with the loading order doesn't seem to help.

The MWSE script should override any plugin mod that edits the books to set the mesh/icon correctly, but I have no idea about that mod.

For whatever reason, "A Dance in Fire, Chapter 4" doesn't match the rest of the series; it appears vanilla. The description indicates that this book should have had a special fix applied to it, but I don't think it's working. Everything else seems to be in order, though.

That book looks fine to me, the same as the others in the series. Not sure why it would look different for you.

The fix mentioned in the description was for the mesh. With Daleth's original mesh that book was discolored. The fixed mesh solves that problem.

I had books like this as well. Turned out, they were books that I had read, and the save file kept a record of them, including meshes and textures.

I used Enchanted Editor to nuke all records of read skill books from the save. Everything looks fine now.

Any chance of including the files Daleth made for the closed versions of open books for compatibility with Book Rotate? I know Perfect Placement is all the rage now, but I still use Book Rotate as Perfect Placement is kind of a nightmare for aligning books and has no option to close opened books. It's still possible to make it work using the .esps, but for completion's sake thought I'd ask :)

I'm not sure about that honestly (I don't use either mod), but I'll look into it.

I think your best bet is probably just to use the esps, but have you seen Switchable Scriptures? It lets you open and close any book. It could be used with Perfect Placement (though it still might not be perfect).

If you use the esps you can use Enchanted Library along with it, which will override mesh/icon as needed.

History of the Empire 1-3 upside down in the character creation office. Not sure if they're upside down everywhere else.

Yeah, that's because some dev placed the books upside down when creating that cell. With vanilla textures you can barely tell, but a mod like this makes these mistakes more noticeable.

Ideally someone would go through in the CS and flip upside down books around, but I'm not holding my breath..

The comment by BOOze64. I noticed this also. Books in Seyda Need Census office some here upside-down yes. Funny its in the original book jackets mod also. Besides this minor mistake..I guess, this mwse lua mod is amazing. I actually had the regular ones with melchior patch. Now I will have this instead also with melchior magnificent books and scrolls patch. Thanks again.

Books being upside down isn't Daleth's fault. It's the fault of the Morrowind devs who placed the books in those cells and couldn't be bothered making sure they were right side up. With vanilla textures you could barely tell the difference, so they didn't have a good reason to care.

I see. I did not know that...thanks. I got a new question now though. I installed Uvirith's legacy. Should I install UL-book jackets add on esp? I guessing it will work the same was as before. I see it has no actual depency on the regular book jackets mod on Wrye Mash.

I don't use UL but I think that should be fine. The addon should assign new covers to the non-vanilla books in UL, while this mod will still do its thing for vanilla books.

Or you could use Enchanted Library. It replaces the covers of most books with higher-quality versions, plus it has an addon (plugin or MWSE) for UL. If you use Enchanted Library, you'll need to install the assets from this mod, but delete the MWSE directory first because Enchanted Library has its own MWSE component.

Funny how everyone seems to place their books upside-down standing-up (e.g. In Seyda Need office where you create your character, or in the Mage's Guild in Balmora.) At least they are the right-side-up in the Vivec Library. EDIT: Or is my install all strange and no one else can see this? It's kinda annoying lol...

man this BUT with daedric lettering for all the books. The "book of daedra" looks DOPE fromt he front i just wish all the writing was in daedric. This is very nicely done none the less :)

The mod just isn't loading for me. Vortex says it's installed and deployed properly, I have MGE XE installed and set up properly, but the jackets just will not change. What's going on?

I'm not familiar with Vortex, but my understanding is it sometimes doesn't install mods properly. Do you see in mwse.log that the mod is initialized? Or any errors related to the mod in the log?

This is what I get, even after reinstalling Morrowind Code Patch:

Morrowind Script Extender v2.0.0 (built Feb 5 2018) initialized.
Failed to detect Morrowind Code Patch installed features. MCP may not be installed, or the mcpatch\installed file may have been deleted. Mods will be unable to detect MCP feature support.

You have a super old version of MWSE. Run MWSE-Update.exe to download the latest version.

Even if you get stuff to work now, it is HIGHLY suggested you do not use Vortex for Morrowind. But do as you will.
