Changelogs
Version 1.2
Fixed a non-fatal potential bug when dousing a static light.
Version 1.1
Added support for removing emissivity, material controllers, and some other edge cases for different lights. Lanterns will now darken correctly instead of staying bright.
Version 1-BETA
Initial beta release.
Douse the Lights By: OperatorJack
* This video was recorded with version 1. Please see changelog for new features. Lanterns will properly darken now, for example.
Description Channel your inner Thief and douse light sources with your bow, crossbow, or thrown weapons. Hitting a light source (or very nearby it) will turn off the light and remove the flame from the light.
You can shoot guards to blow out their torches.
You can shoot candles to blow out their flames.
You can even shoot fires to douse them.
Notes:
The lights will naturally return after some time, and always return after you restart your game.
This may not remove some environmental lights, which are invisible lights that do not have visible objects like lanterns or torches do.
Due to Morrowind's collision system, it is possible you may "hit" a light and nothing happens. Try to hit it from a different angle and the effect will work as intended.
Some lights have "glow maps". This may make some lights have a brightness like they're lit, but without any light surrounding them. Functionality does not currently exist in MWSE to disable glow maps, but this mod will be updated if it does.
This mod does not use or require an ESP. This mod IS NOT compatible with OpenMW.
