                 2. DESCRIPTION
================================================

This is a modders' resource that adds 48 tapestries for use in mods of your own that are all derived from the works of famous Spanish Romantic-era painter Francisco Goya. The majority of them are from his "Tapestry Cartoons" series of works, which were commissioned by the aristocracy of the time to be hung in their dining halls, depicting hunting, leisure activities and slice-of-life scenes.

There are a few additional tapestries that are from other selected works of his, including from his later "Black Paintings" period when his ailing health, his dissatisfaction with the works of his early career, and the widespread political strife of the time all contributed to pointed stylistic and thematic differences compared to his earlier works.

As you browse the tapestries you will undoubtedly notice some of them aren't all that lore-friendly or thematically resonant with Morrowind. Hopefully however, you will find at least a few that are (somewhat), and I chose to include not only these marginally appropriate works, but rather a wider selection of Goya's overall works regardless because I like to think of this mod as not only a modders' resource, but also as an exhibit for the works of a notable real-life artist. Thus, I wanted to make it as complete as I could given what would fit reasonably in the proportions of the vanilla common tapestry mesh. (And in any case, C0DA makes it canon, lol amirite?)

                 4. INSTALLATION
================================================

To install the plugin, simply unzip the files into the 'Data Files' folder of your 'Morrowind' directory.

Expected result: This should install the .esp file and this readme file in the 'Data Files' folder, the included meshes in the subdirectory 'Meshes/WJ/FG', and the included textures in the subdirectory 'Textures/wj/fg'.

                     5. USAGE
================================================

For easy importing and placement into your mod, as well as for examples of implementation, there is an .esp which has all the .nifs loaded under statics with ID names "WJ_Goya_Tap_[##]" and which adds the cell 'FG Tapestries Demo' with all of the tapestries on display. You can also individually import the .nif files into your mod directly.

* = These are alternate versions of the relevant textures derived from pictures obtained from the Google Arts and Culture Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela digital exhibit. All other textures are derived from pictures obtained from Wikipedia. I believe the difference is that the pictures from Wikipedia are scans of the canvas paintings Goya made for later transference into woven wool tapestries, while the pictures from the digital exhibit are of the tapestries themselves. The digital exhibit is where the border pattern that frames every texture with a border is derived from.

** = These are alternate versions of the relevant textures with the border pattern from the Tapestry Cartoons applied, although the associated paintings were not part of the Tapestry Cartoons series and do not naturally have a border pattern.

I ask that if you do use anything from it without alteration that you credit me & this mod, and in the case that you altered something and used that, credit me & this mod with the original file(s) and annotate your alterations if at all possible, and don't forget to give each altered file a unique filename so as to avoid any conflict with its corresponding original file, especially if you plan to distribute it.

Also, I do not require to be notified in order for the above permission to be given, but I will always appreciate being shown the neat things I hope people will be inspired to use this resource for, so if you do use it in something and want to show off your usage, feel free to drop me a line.
