At the Mountain of Madness

Description

This mod adds to the game a number of stories by H. P. Lovecraft, for those who want more horror in their Morrowind. This is not exactly lore-friendly (the stories reference real-world locations and so on).

The following stories are added to the game:

The Alchemist
The Tomb
The Doom That Came to Sarnath
The Cats of Ulthar
From Beyond
The Outsider
The Music of Erich Zann
The Rats in the Walls
The Call of Cthulhu
The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath
The Case of Charles Dexter Ward
The Colour out of Space
The Dunwich Horror
The Whisperer in Darkness
At the Mountains of Madness
The Shadow over Innsmouth
The Thing on the Doorstep
The Shadow out of Time

Each story is contained in a single in-game book, which means some of them are *very* long for Morrowind books. I recommend using the "Better Typography" feature of Morrowind Code Patch with this mod.

Only one copy of each book is present in the game, and none of them are for sale. They can often, but not exclusively, be found in locations related to the Sixth House.

See the "spoilers" document in the archive for a list of the books' locations, as well as their item IDs. The archive also contains the text of each of the stories, if you just want to read them.

Installation

Use a mod management tool such as Wrye Mash, or just copy the plugin and the BookArt directory to your Data Files directory and select the mod in the Morrowind Launcher.

Requirements

Only Tribunal and Bloodmoon are required.

Credits

The stories added by this mod are the product of the creative genius of H. P. Lovecraft, a legendary writer of horror fiction. You should read all his stuff. All of these stories are in the public domain.

Usage

You can use this however you want, but may Nyarlathotep the Crawling Chaos devour your soul if you try to take credit for Lovecraft's work.
