I think there's a big missed opportunity in not involving transport services in this. Silt striders and guild guides refusing services would only make sense: that's the big part of smuggling, after all, getting the stuff to go around in the first place.

And another thing - I just started up a particularly morally upright character (so upright that he didn't even pinch anything from the Census and Excise at the start!), and finding all this moon sugar lying about, I'd really love the option of turning it in. Some Imperial official somewhere to whom you can bring all this stuff. Be really honest. Hlaalu hate him.

Oh, oh! And what about Cannibals of Morrowind? I just put it up and nobody cares I'm carrying legs and eyeballs and brains around. All the skulls. You'd think people would comment. A compatibility patch would be really great.

well... you think they're not in on it? their job isn't considered a position of prestige, why wouldn't they shirk the rules?

If memory serves, yes. I think you can sell it to most merchants.

Update: NVM, the issue I was having was with The Buying Game, not this mod.

There are five merchants in the game, which sell Corprus Weepings (see here), but only one of them is an apothecary. The other four are Healers, so the have no problem selling me the Weepings, but then refuse Service bacause I have them on me.
Could you add the "Healer Service" class to the exception for trading Corprus Weepings/Meat?
    Other than that, great mod!

Tested this with Illegal Items. Both mods worked fine together.

Thanks for checking it out and letting us know! Good to know it works on a technical level. Though it might create something of an inconsistency, with Legion members saying stuff needs to be handed to the Company despite handing it in to the Legion being an option in the other mod. Plus the difference in reward is very large so there wouldn’t be much motivation for a roleplayer to go to the Company.

EDIT: Didn’t realise to you were the author of Illegal Items, if you would like any help making them work together more smoothly, making patches etc, just let me know. I’m PoodleSandwich on Discord.

This comment should be pinned if you're going to reference it with regards to compatibility in the description.

great mod idea! Will try out later when i get the chance. i'm a little sad that you can't get the charter, even if you get to a high rank in the EEC or spend some fat cash like say 2,000-10,000 gold or something if a lower rank in the EEC or a proper member of house hlaalu, since i have other business related mods i run with this kinda hurts my trader ship gig.
I honestly think it would be better if you could get an imperial charter to sell through the right channels, i.e. sell it directly to the EEC, authorized hlaalu vendors, certain imperial vendors, etc, in order to sell glass and ebony specifically, but possible for you to use it to sell to others like you normally would without it - however because the PC has a charter selling ebony/glass to the wrong people would be considered abuse of their charter and if you get caught abusing it by the EEC, the legion, etc or their allies, LOSE IT - and the empire takes its abuse VERY SERIOUSLY. and the empire does keep ledgers for trade like this so i'd expect it to be very risky to abuse an imperial charter.
it would make playing a smuggler a bit riskier if you were to try to fraud an imperial charter and more profitable if you can pull it off.
If it wern't for my job's hours and scedule, id offer to make such a mod for you myself... though alas for now the best i can do is leave this comment.

Yeah, it sounds very expansive and not something I’d have time to do but anyone is free to use this mod as a starting point to create something like that from. Sounds like it could be good. Could even be a mod that adds several quests.

Using this with Sane Ordinators, will merchants ignore your Indoril gear if you're authorized to use it?

Can’t remember for certain but judging from the description “ Added greetings to Temple members in Vivec city, commenting if you are wearing Indoril armor. These vary depending on your status”

it seems like I took that into consideration. Would love to know, if you fancied testing it out.

How does this mod function in tandem with Go to Jail? This wasn't mentioned under the incompatible mods?

How does this mod work for Great House factions? For example, would the Archmagister of House Telvanni be able to persuade merchants in the same faction to buy Dwemer artifacts and raw ebony?

Thanks for the question. Members of House Telvanni will already buy Dwemer Artifacts and Raw Ebony. :)

But what if we are talking about the Mages Guild for example?

All the factions that are affected are on the description page. Mages guild will turn a blind eye.
