About this mod

A new endgame-tier medium armor set inspired by indoril & daedric armors and built out of a mix of prior great armor mods. The set is only available via console at the moment but is being offered up for people to use or to build their own quests.

Permissions and credits
Like previous mod-makers, I've loved the idea of giving my character a legendary armor set worn by Nerevar himself. There are already several long-established mods that build off the indoril armor set to create similar artifacts, but I was never quite satisfied with any of them. I wanted a mysterious and terrifying armor that looked like the war gear of a champion of three daedric princes - one that was missing many of the decorations and flourishes that were presumably added by the indoril guards over the centuries of wearing their armor in a largely ceremonial capacity.

But while I lacked the artistic skills to pull off such an armor on my own, I realized that there were a wide variety of existing resources created by prior Morrowind modders across the decades. And so, with these resources and a few minor tweaks by me to tie the different pieces together, I've gone ahead and created the armor that I always felt my Nerevarine was missing. And now I want to share it with you and give back to the community that allowed me to make this mod.

The armor was designed to serve as the "ultimate medium armor" endgame set, and so the stats were chosen based on finding a mid-point between glass and daedric armor. Because the maximum weight for medium armor pieces is so much lighter than daedric, these stats might be considered overly high, so I definitely don't recommend giving your character the armor until they are already extremely powerful. The armor set also includes a cape/mantle (which is categorized as a pair of pants by the game). I used the stats for Exquisite Pants when assigning stats for the cape. The Open Helm and Leggings were created primarily for beast race characters, but work perfectly well on humanoid pc’s if you prefer them.

This armor can currently only be acquired via console, and I don't expect that I'll have the time in the future to create a full quest for acquiring the items. If anyone wants to make such a quest, I'd love to see it - just please make sure to assign credit as described below. It would be great if you sent me a message as well, just so I can see how other modders have made use of the armor set.

All the assets borrowed from prior mods have been renamed to enhance compatibility - you should be able to add in any of the original mods (which often contain many additional quests or armor pieces that I didn't use) without any conflicts with this mod. Textures, Meshes, and Icons are sorted into the “dan” (Daedric Armor of Nerevar) subfolder to keep things tidy. In Data Files\Textures\dan\ you’ll find two subfolders offering two alternative textures for the kneepads. The darker coloration is the default (and my preference) but I included the brighter original texture from Shekizza’s mod as well. Feel free to copy and paste either one into the Textures\dan\ folder to swap between them to decide which you prefer.

VERSION CHANGES:
The biggest addition in Version 2 is an alternative version of the armor optimized to work with Better Bodies / Better Armors. This version is nearly identical for males but should work much better with female characters using Better Bodies. I recommend using a beast body mod if using the Better Armors version - my tests used Sabregirl's Better Bodies for Beasts.

In v2 (in both the Vanilla and Better Armors versions) I've eliminated the need for a tunic piece (I only created it to cover up the upper arms, which are now properly covered by the main armor pieces). If you're character is currently wearing the V1 armor, I recommend removing and disabling / deleting the tunic before updating, since there's no longer a reference to the item in the V2 mod.

For both versions, I've also added an extra feminine helmet (which can be used by either gender, as can the original male helm). I also decided to use a different mesh for the open helm to make it fit better with the armor's indoril aesthetics.

Acquiring the armor in-game: Use the following console ID’s to give your character the relevant armor pieces. The Open Helm and Leggings were created primarily for beast race characters, but work perfectly well on humanoid npc’s if you prefer them:

D_Nerevar_Boots
D_Nerevar_Cuirass
D_Nerevar_Gaunt_L
D_Nerevar_Gaunt_R
D_Nerevar_Greaves
D_Nerevar_Helm
D_Nerevar_Leggings
D_Nerevar_Open_Helm
D_Nerevar_Paul_L
D_Nerevar_Paul_R
D_Nerevar_Shield
D_Nerevar_Mantle
D_Nerevar_Fem_Helm (exists only in Version 2, in both the Vanilla and Better Armors versions)

Below are the credits for all the awesome mods I borrowed from to assemble this armor set. I want to thank all of them for their hard work, as well as the Bethesda modding community more broadly.

I give full permission to reuse this armor in future mods – I ask only that you credit me and the modders who created the resources I used for this armor set.

Better Armors version: uses meshes created by the Better Armors team alongside the assets used for each individual piece.

Closed Helmet – is borrowed from Face of the Hortator ( https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/42928 ) with slight modifications

Feminine Helmet - is borrowed directly from Sheikizza Daedric Armour 1.5 ( http://mw.modhistory.com/download-68-2304 ) without modification.

Greaves – are borrowed directly from Sheikizza, with slight modifications to darken the knees. The original brighter knee textures by Shekizza are also kept in an optional subfolder, which you can use to copy and replace the darkened textures I created.

Tunic from V1 – is borrowed from Black Robe, Tunic, and Armor ( http://mw.modhistory.com/download-68-2304 ) along with assets imported from Sheikizza’s Armour mod

Cape – is based off of a cape included in Kadkatadea’s Shop by Sabregirl ( https://www.sabregirl.com/wings/newwings.html ) which she credits to Hyperion and his night elf mod. The cape was modified using textures from Daedric Clothing by Ghoul ( http://mw.modhistory.com/download-4-1690)

Shield - is borrowed the Nerevar Armour resource created by Enlightened_Daedroth and Soulshade ( http://mw.modhistory.com/download-90-7307 )

Cuirass – is borrowed from Mixed Indoril and Daedric Armor from MTG ( http://mw.modhistory.com/download-4-539 ) with the belt modified using assets from Nerevar Armour

Gauntlets and Boots – are borrowed directly from Mixed Indoril and Daedric Armor, with slight modifications

Leggings – use the same assets as Boots, but were modified for beast races using an approach inspired by Adul’s Leggings ( http://mw.modhistory.com/download-55-15500 ), though without using any assets from Adul

Pauldrons – are based off Daedric and Dwemer Alternatives by Danke ( http://mw.modhistory.com/download-4-14394 ) with some mesh modifications for a better armor fit.

Open Helmet – Uses the Open Indoril helm by Mantodea ( http://mw.modhistory.com/download-56-1829 ) alongside textures from Sheikizza, Face of the Hortator, and Mixed Indoril and Daedric Armor. The earlier V1 version was borrowed from Sheikizza Daedric Armour 1.5 ( http://mw.modhistory.com/download-68-2304 ), along with assets imported from Face of the Hortator.
