Provides a new way to acquire the Ebony Mail, by adding it to the inventory of Bolvyn Venim, the Archmaster of House Redoran. Useful for medium armored warriors who wish to use the armor without becoming head of the Tribunal Temple.

What this mod does:
Deletes the standard Ebony Cuirass from the inventory of Bolvyn Venim, head of House Redoran, and replaces it with the unique Ebony Mail. It will be on his body when you kill him in a duel, either as part of the Main Plot or ascending to Archmaster yourself. This will likely make the duel significantly harder, but the reward will naturally be much greater.
Note: This does not alter any dialogue or quests, including the Tribunal Temple quest The House of Troubles. This means this mod makes it possible to acquire two Ebony Mail artifacts, which technically makes this a cheat mod.
Why?
I have often felt that the way Morrowind distributes some artifacts as rewards is a bit nonsensical, and none moreso than the Ebony Mail. As medium armor, it is of most use to a warrior or spellsword character. But the only way to acquire it (without metagame knowledge) is to become Archcanon of the Tribunal Temple... and I've always found the idea of a heretical outlander becoming the Pope to be a bit dubious from a roleplaying perspective. This quite aside from the fact that the Temple does not favor Medium Armor as a skill.
Instead, I gave it to the head of the one faction in the game that does favor Medium Armor. Taking inspiration from the Imperial Legion's final quest, I think the Ebony Mail is a fitting reward for becoming Archmaster. And for those Nerevarines who acquire it when they become Redoran Hortator... well, at least now this cool armor might get some of the love it deserves.
Installation:
Just extract into Data Files and activate the "AltAcq - Ebony Mail" plugin. There are two versions; one also adds an Imperial Skirt to cover the untextured groin mesh of the Ebony Greaves that originally shipped with Morrowind. Use only one.
Compatibility and Requirements:
Requires just Morrowind. Should be compatible with any tweak or replacer. I'm using the excellent Better Morrowind Armor in my screenshots.
Recommended:
No Shield Sparkle by jiopi.
