Yes, please feel free to translate this mod! Currently, an Itilian and a Polish translation have been made.

Should you make a translation, would you please link it on this modpage as the other translations have done?

took part in some Earthly Delights and got stuck in the floor. neither tcl or FixMe fixed it, I couldnt even switch to 3rd person to get a look at what exactly was going on

edit: tried again already in 3rd person, PC falls to the floor and never gets up

I am having the same issue. After looking at the mod in MWEdit my only guess is the Ashe's company spell. It increases personality and decreases willpower for 900s and drains fatigue by 200 for 0s. Since it's all under the same spell maybe the damage fatigue stays active for 900s? Not worth testing in my opinion, small fluke in an otherwise great mod.

For anyone having this problem in the future, you can fix it by going into TES Construction Set and editing the spell `h11_ashe's_company` to have a duration on the Drain Fatigue effect.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but you would not happen to be willing to explain how you made beds rentable or link a guide, I am having trouble finding information about such a process and figured you would be the best person to ask.

    -many thanks irisie

It is pretty complex because there is new dialogue, new scripts, new globals, door and NPC edits, etc. Probably the best thing to do is to look at the ESP file of this mod with a program like Morrowind Enchanted Editor; to check what kind of edits were made and then check them in the Construction Set. That should give an idea of what is needed to make a bed rentable.

It is quite tricky because everything must be perfectly in tune with each other. For example, the script will not work without the right global. If the NPC does not have the Publican class, it lacks general (Publican class) dialogue to fall back on, and so on.

I'm using this mod, in combination with 'Bed buddies' mod which prevents me from sleeping in any unowned / unfriendly / unrented bed. So far it seemed to work in all places, except for Trivura Arenim in Ald Velothi Outpost. After I say 'beds' and pay her 10 gp, she says to pick any of the 4 beds, but none of them works. Each says I don't have permission to sleep in this bed. Maybe there is some special handling or bug with Trivura Arenim?

It's a compatibility issue. Usually, a local is set when you rent a bed. Since these beds have no owner assigned, I did not think adding scripts to all these beds was necessary for this local check. Apparently, the mod Bed Buddies depends on this. When I have time, I will release an update to make the mods competitive. It's a small effort.

Thanks! I have also encountered the same problem with Burcanius Varo(?)'s bed in Vos.

I can't seem to recreate the error. Since you also encountered it with Burcanius Varo, which is not touched by this mod, there is probably another mod responsible for this error.

Wait, if I'm interpreting the compatibility notes right...

Is The Publicans compatible with the latest BCoM version out-of-the-box now?
Or would I still need the patched .esp provided on the BCoM page?

Hi there! I'm just wondering why I am getting these load error messages when I load my save game.

    - Unable to find referenced object "Rent_MolagMar_Pilgrim_Door" in script Pub_MolagMar_Pilgrim
    - Unable to find referenced object "Rent_Suran_Desele_Door" in script Pub_Suran_Desele

I only have the Publicans.esp file loaded (not the Earthly Delights or the LGNPC files). The game still works when I run the executables anyway, and as far as I can tell, everything seems to be working fine at least with Desele and her bed for rent in Suran. So what exactly is up with these error messages?

When everything seems to be working, you can load your save with the mod enabled, then save again. Upon reloading, the error messages should no longer appear.

Errrrr, I got a problem. When I try to rent a bed the innkeeper goes "u buying" and gives me a "yes" and a "no" options. I click one. Then the innkeeper goes "u buying" and gives me a "yes" and a "no" options. I click one. Then the innkeeper goes "u buying" and gives me a "yes" and a "no" options. I click one. Then the innkeeper goes "u buying" and gives me a "yes" and a "no" options. I click one. I guess, you get the gist.

      I'm also experiencing this issue

Edit: Placing this lower in my load order fixed the issue. If you're using BCOM, this mod needs to be placed lower than it in your load order.

I started using Improved Inns Expanded, and didn't encounter this problem any more.

I translated the mod into my language but now all the characters in game have the “beds” topic.
I did something wrong or it’s just the mod?

Definitely something went wrong there. The topic should be reserved for Publicans only.

Indeed the topic is still present even without The Publicans. It should be some other mod.

Did you ever find out what went wrong for this? I have the same issue (with a step further: all generic greetings have been replaced with "We rent beds. I have goods to barter. What do you want?"). Thanks

@Jakethybro It was a mod which had this topic wrongly added on all NPCs. The mod is Wizards' Islands, it's a very old mod, I don't think it's the same causing your problem, but surely it's a mod doing it. check them.

It could be a load order problem. Try loading my mod last and see if that fixes the problem.
