I hoped to signify Hlaalu's status as a relatively wealthy trader (or traitor, but that's a matter of opinion) house, using colors and material that might actually be found on a somewhat backwater volcanic island. Nothing terribly rich, just nice looking, with the use of molds to form their stucco buildings and decorations.
