Wow, those are pretty cool! I just tried to use smoother meshes by Connary with environment map and apply these textures to them and uploaded screen of the result
Looks good! TBH, the fact that it can work with these meshes surprises me, I've tested Connary's plate meshes once (09/09/12 15:17 version) and I remember running into troubles since the texture placement was handled differently by those meshes. Environment Mapping certainly adds its twist, I should really dig this mapping question, not right now though, since my current Morrowind install can't use mapping, probably me using 4gb patch which locked me out of MCP's features.. oops Thanks for uploading the result (:
You can actually use MCP together with 4gb patch and also exeOptimiser. Just apply them in the right order: MCP -> exeOptimiser -> 4gb patch (different ordering might work too, but I always use this one and it works fine)
Did you get gray circles in the center of the plates too? How did you fix that?
Edit: Fixed it myself with my own makeshift patch: Used the smoother meshes from here: http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/43266/? added environment map using this tutorial: http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=5328 and used the q_refl_writing_dark.dds that came with Mesh Improvement Optimized: http://download.fliggerty.com/download--1088. Works like a charm now. Will upload a pic up next!
This is beyond charming, I love the retexutre, I think it looks more beautiful than the original, it's very high quality and very beautiful, thanks for doing such amazing work!
Well, if I got you right you probably compared the dds vs the ingame result, the differing result is due to how the vanilla textures covers the vanilla model, some of the outer part of the texture's disc is not drawn onto the model because the model simply considers that this part does not exist. Since it doesn't exist I didn't erase or blacken this part, I just paid attention to get a good overall cut out of the texture. I can understand the confusion
Damnit, you got me I thought you were mistranslating lasting for extending, can't believe I went that far into explanations.. I must confess I've never heard english voices for Morrowind, since I'm using the french version. But, yes, you really got me

Since I enjoyed this handsome imperial forts retexture you made, I'm then honouring one of my many "mod debts"
