Version 1.5 released - this adds compatibility with Tamriel Rebuilt 19.12 and fixes a bug with the configuration menu. This update will require a new save for users of 1.4, but it's good practice to start fresh for Tamriel Rebuilt updates anyway, and the bugfixes here aren't major enough that users of 1.4 should need to switch mid-playthrough if the mod is working for them.

It seems that the mod messed up the agility of my character after a long rest, although the rested bonus icon still say that i should have a +3 bonus, i in fact lose 4 points for a total of 36 where it should be 40

have anyone here ever got this problem?

Hi Destructor, I've noticed that thirst can be instantly eliminated if you simply drop bottles of water from your inventory. (Rather than drinking them) Was this an oversight or just a way the script works?

Everytime I place a bedroll on the Floor and sleep in it, i can´t pick it up afterwards. Is this a known bug or is there a way to fix this?

I love this mod. An OpenMW port would be awesome!

I seem to be having an issue with the configuration menu. I can use the console to bring up the menu but most of the buttons don't do anything. The only buttons which do something are under Needs and Addiction with the exception of Adjust Timers. All other buttons just close the config menu with no message displayed. I used the debug mode which confirmed no change with the buttons.

I set bn_shelteractive to 1 with the console and then the bed rolls and tents became available though, so those features DO work, but trying to use the config menu fails to do anything.

I also noticed attributes not returning to original values as other's have mentioned. I am using an adjusted version of Madd Leveler which affects attributes. I will look into whether this is the cause of the attribute issue for me.

EDIT: I had a look at the config menu code. I'm pretty sure I have version 1.4 but no one else seems to be having this same problem. The menu works fine to adjust one thing then closes. Every subsequent opening only allows changing the needs and addiction toggle since the NeedsToggle variable (and maybe others) aren't reset after being used.

EDIT2: As far as I can tell, I fixed my copy by adding "Set NeedsToggle to 1" when all needs and addiction are toggled either on or off (so for both Allon=1 and =0), and when the individual needs are toggled to on. This is in the script BN_ControlScript.

EDIT3: I think my stats problem is just with agility. I have no idea if it's in line with the intended function of the mod, but it seems to be fixed by changing the spell BN_Hunger1 from affecting Agility to affecting Endurance. The rest of the hunger spells affect endurance already anyway.

i have the same problem with the configuration menu, so you're not the only one having this problem as you mentioned. otherwise great mod!

edit: i deactivated the "bottle return for bare necessities" mod i ran together with bare necessities and the menu seems to work now. maybe some weird incompatibility...

The configuration bug should be fixed in version 1.5. It turned out the menu problem was happening when the player opened the config menu through the console, but didn't close the console with the '~' key before using the menu - I had always closed it before testing the menu without thinking to note that as a requirement, but it should now also work for users who don't do this. Thanks again for reporting.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to reproduce the stats problem when testing on a vanilla game and with Tamriel Rebuilt, but if you learn anything about incompatibilities with mods like Madd Leveler please consider posting here and I'll update the list to reflect.

With regards to related mods like "bottle return", these are uploaded by other users and aren't guaranteed to be compatible with updates to this mod, since edits made to the same scripts by those mods and updates to this mod will overwrite each other. I recognize a lot of users prefer the features those add, but I would recommend contacting the authors of those edits to see if they'll update them to reflect updates here.

I downloaded the mod yesterday and I'm still having the same issue with the menu. Not sure how to work it around. I did not understand at all the idea of closing the console with the tilde key - especially considering my non English keyboard :(
The mod is literally the last thing to load in my mod list, so it shouldn't have any overwrite problems.

I'm having the same problem AND whenever I save or a notification pops up Needs & Addiction toggles to the opposite of what it was prior. Not sure if others are having this problem too.

Dont know if its supposed to be this way. but the main file requires Master Tamriel Rebuilt?, If not so why an seperate plugin for the compatibility patch?

Yeah, this is currently super confusing, as I cannot tell if it is mandatory or not. On the requirements listed on the Description it is not listed.

It's not a hard requirement. The scripts will detect TR food stuff however, if the mod's loaded.

My game will not even start if I don't have the Tamriel Data. Looks like hard requirement that way...

Tamriel Data works on it's own, you don't need Tamriel Rebuild to use it. Data is just a BSA asset repository.

My bad, I misunderstood the terms. No need for Tamriel Rebuilt indeed, but definitely needs Tamriel Data.

Thanks for reporting this everyone - the requirement for Tamriel Data in the main file from 1.5 was a mistake, and only the Tamriel Data patch is supposed to require Tamriel Data, not the master file. Version 1.5.1 has been uploaded which corrects this. The content is otherwise the same.

Hi Destructor, Im wondering if you could shed any light on this. With shelter requirement active a message popup will read "You get no rest on the hard floor" if you try and rest on the ground outside without a bedroll. Thing is the rest need doesn't seem to increase by doing this. Lets say I wait 24 hours in a town so I have a days worth of weariness then travel away from town to sleep. Sleeping on the ground will give me the "ground too hard" message, but no matter how many days I go the sleep penalty will not increase. Resting on the ground -without- any weariness penalty will give the same result: I get the "hard ground" message, but no matter how many days transpire I will get no increase in sleep penalty. Basically whatever sleep penalty you have when you try to rest on the ground with shelter needs active, will simply be a fixed value (even if value is nil) until you find a proper bed or bedroll. Im just a little puzzled by the mechanics at work here.

I chose to code it this way primarily to make it convenient to wait long periods of time to prompt respawns or merchant resets without needing to toggle the rest feature off - I find myself having to do this reasonably regularly during long playthroughs. That being said, it shouldn't be too hard to re-code the fatigue script to increase the value while the player is resting without shelter if you're interested in that.

I couldn't get this mod to work as intended, sorry to say. I've since resorted to simply eating and drinking as an role playing incentive rather than because a mod requires me to. It's not what I wanted, but you do what you gotta do.
