idk how to report a bug for the nexus mods when there is no bug report section so I'll just type the issue here, with this mod installed every time I pick up the books I crash and I never had any other mods installed so I was forced to uninstall and reinstall morrowind gotty since I forgot to backup my files.
The game crashing because of a mod not working properly doesn't need the game to be re-installed but you need to uninstall the mod. If you added the mod manually and you don't know which files have been added by the mod then either hit 'Preview File Content' on the 'Files' tab to see the content of the mod, or download the mod manually and unzip to see what's in it and has been added.
In the future, start using a mod manager like NMM to safely install and uninstall mods.
I just recently learned that game crash when opening this books might probably be issued by using Better typography-compatible version when MCP with Better typography is not installed. If you do not have Morrowind Code Patch or not enabled "Better Typogrephy" option, do not use Old_dwemer_books_Better_typography.esp.
One little suggestion: maybe can you make a version more worn, with ink missing in some places, ink foggy (I don't know hot say it lol). Because it's ancient books so...
I considered making them worn, but comparing them with other dwemer books (like " Divine Metaphysics" or "Secrets of Animunculi" ) and schematics I decived that dwemer papers aren't much exposed to aging. Though I certainly can make 'aged' version, if I'll find some spare time :)
Initially I'v planned to make unique textures for this books' covers (and opened pages as well), but never got round to do it. Than fellow modders included this in pair of mods (non-English) and created unique open-pages textures with this graphics, saving me the trouble of doing it.
I'd also like to know if there's any meaning behind the text.
There actually is a almost complete alphabet on the wiki, so someone bored enough, with enough time and effort could totes find out what these say, if anything.
Commenting on the actual mod itself, it looks really nice and at home along with the other Dwemer schematics.
There is only gibberish, my bad. Maybe pair or two of lines on random copypasted text, but mostly only random characters here and there. It wolud be fun to hid there some message, yes, but I couldn't think up anything interesting at that moment

I always collected these books, but never liked how blank they were.
Really great mod!

It's just my taste ^^.

Some of the books use open book model which does not have any pictures. Maybe replace it with closed book model?
