Hey, Lougian. I love your replacers and use almost all of them, thanks for your work and for keeping mw alive! Are you planning to remake the dwemer textures too? I think they are in great need of a modern replacer.
Hi Krokantschmerz, I'm glad you like my mods. I'll never let morrowind ! I have planned to retexture every architectures in the game except the Telvannis and the Velothi because Kanalhuhn has already make them. But the rest will be bone ! Unfortunately, I can't tell you when I will release them. I have a lot of WIP and haven't began the Dwemer yet, you have to be patient !
Thanks man, it's always nice to have some support.
Very well done, best Daedric ruins replacer by a large margin.
Would you mind including the mesh/UV mapping fixes introduced by Papill6n in his mod "various graphics things" in a future update ? As things stand now, the 9 meshes overwrite each other.
You are a machine! All of your mods are nothing less than awsome! I can't even imagine how much time, effort and sweat you have put in it! thank you for so much dedication to this game! I have no words to express my appreciation and my gratitude!
Just checked it out ingame, and I have to say holy sh*t, this is by far the best bump map mod for Morrowind, ever! I mean, it really looks like bump maps, and you managed to do it without the usual shininess, but it still looks three-dimensional. Would you care to tell me how you did that?
Apart from that, the textures themselves are great, it's really amazing. Maybe, just maybe, some of them could use a little more contrast, but that's just nitpicking! It's already my favorite of your replacers, and they are all great!
And by the way, I also installed them over Bloodinfested's and I didn't have any problems ingame so far. Seems to be hardware-related, or anything else for Skkraaggh. It's not your mod, in any case.
Sorry, Skies .IV, I have to cancel my File of the month vote in favor of this!
I am very glad you like I will send you a pm to tell you How I have done this, And I'll see later What I can do for the contrast ! That's what I was thinking, I test basically all meshes and didn't have any problem. Thank you very much for the vote
I have to agree with Pherim about contrast. One issue I am having with MGE XE is that everything in the world seems a little too bright, washed out. This is not your problem, of course - the mod is great, but I would prefer that colours on the outside would be a bit more sharp, more saturated. Inside the ruins everything is fine, because it is much darker there. Though I understand that all models use the same textures, and it will be difficuilt to do something here.
Once again I'll throw in my two pennies What wretchedfetcher suggests is technically possible, but it requires some easy, but boring work in Nifskope (apart from extra work that comes with making two versions of the same texture). The mod will then contain modified meshes, too. Should work, unless there are some meshes which are used both inside and outside the ruins (which technically could be worked around, too, but requires even more tedious typing and testing in CS. Probably not really worth the trouble...
I'll note that I first tried installing these over the top of Bloodinfested's Daedric Ruins Retexture http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/39125 and I was getting CTDs.
I was able to solve the problem by manually deleting all of Bloodinfested's textures first, and then installing Lougian's pack. It seems that Bloodinfested did not wish to leave quietly!
Actually, I'm still getting CTDs It seems if I try to load a save that's near to your Daedric textures, it will always CTD as soon as it loads. I'm not sure why, there's nothing in my warnings.txt about it. I'm gonna run back to Bloodinfested now.. good luck with the mod!
This doesn't make sense, Bloodinfested's mods are just textures, and most of them (except the statues, which are not part of this mod, anyway) are overwritten by this, there is no way that this could cause CTDs, as far as I know. Maybe there is something wrong with some of the meshes from this mod? I'll try it out myself later and report.
I just checked my meshes and I didn't find any problem. Are you sure the problem is from my mod ? Could you tell me the ingame location where you get CTD please ? That's weird I haven't any problem.
I'm not playing Morrowind atm, but I'm keeping a close eye on every Morrowind texture that Lougian comes up with (they look great in these screenies, by the way), so I've read about this issue.
Actually it is perfectly possible to experience crashes because textures put too much strain on your system. Your previous textures were 1024x1024 pixels, while these are 2048x2048 (remember it's 4x larger - not just 2x - than the other ones). Besides, Bloodinfested didn't modify normal maps or reflection maps. Lougian has made normals, and in many cases reflection maps, too. Each of them is another 2048x2048 pixels for the system to process.
With MGE (which I assume you use) already whipping the s#*! out of your graphic card and processor, all the additional heavyweight stuff may simply be an overload. It all depends on your system, but I know that for Morrowind to look up to date with all the eyecandy - like Lougian's - you need a rig that far exceedes Oblivion and even Skyrim needs (you can say thank you to poor outdated optimisation of the engine).
But hey, just think what sense of achievement it gives. Milking the cow for your own cereal dish = instant skill-up with ultimate food-creation perk and opening the path to the master-chef title...
Hi all, I'm glad to have inspired a little technical discussion here concerning the extra load that large textures can bring to bear, but I felt obliged to return here and report that my crashing actually continued randomly even after removing Lougian's textures and it's only tonight that I've managed to trace the cause to Fliggerty's "Keyring" mod (which has a rather sordid history of causing problems, I'll admit). I've yet to experience a CTD since removing that mod, and I'm now warming up to reinstalling Lougian's excellent Daedric ruins retex!

Maybe you could offer am alternative 1k version of this mod, Lougian?
Yes, Pherim I have plan do to a 1k version of my bump mapped mods
I have to say that these look brilliant in game especially if you are using any of the custom mgexe shaders like hdr or bloom.
Woot Woot :p
