Was going to post the same.
This is a huge problem. Especially when it comes to combat.
Enemies darting about. I'm using the lowest setting .esp file and I refuse to play like this.

well, if theey don't move faster too, you will be able to outrun everything and will never be in any danger while you play, it'd make the game way too easy.

(apolgy for bad engrish) My personal opinion is that this mod is really bad, you'll run faster but so will the NPCs. the animations will also get sped up and it will look really goofy.
It's better and more convenient to just go in the console and type ''player->setathletics 100'' and be happy.
You can even put a higher number if you want, the maximum is 900.

If you really want to move faster, yes. Or just raise your speed through levels.

How do you uninstall the mod? I've deleted the files and all, but it's still affecting my game

      Things to try:

      1. Instead of *just* uninstalling the mod (removing the esp), see if these steps work:
         a) uncheck the esp in the Morrowind launcher options
         b) boot up your latest savegame
         c) take about 5 steps, and regardless of a perceptible speed change, make a *new* savegame (do not use quicksave).
         d) exit all the way out
         e) remove the esp file from your game directory
         f) reload and boot up the *new* savegame and see if that's right. If it is, make a new quicksave to clean out the old one. If not...see #2.

      2. Dig around on this site for savegame cleaners and/or mod cleaners - I haven't had call to go searching for them for Morrowind yet, but they are probably out there to scrub mod sprew out of your game after an uninstall that doesn't actually uninstall. ;)

      3. If 1 and 2 don't work - pester the mod author to make an esp that resets the speed to default. Fastest way to reach a mod author is to put in a bug report. Mods that don't stop modding on uninstall definitely falls under "bug" in my book....

      4. If #3 gets you no answer, try pestering the guy down in the comments a few posts who made the "tweaked" version of this mod. If he has the skill to do that, he has the skill to make you an esp that resets the speed to game default.

      5. If 1-4 fail you *can* set your player speed in console commands, but I've read conflicting reports indicating that this will SET your player speed. You may not experience speed increases for spells or normal advancement in speed as you level up athletics/acrobatics, etc.

      6. Crack the esp and make your own version. The resources are out there.

Removing the esp and making an ingame clean save wasn’t enough for me, it reverted nothing.
(Probably because once it’s done it’s done.) Did not try to find a clean save program though, could have worked.

But indeed, tweaking the esp works. Thought, the issue I have with creatures having lightspeed has to come from a conflict between mods, like another tweak of those values somewhere else, because it doesn’t affect all mob types… I don’t really understand, will not try much more, I am satisfied with how it is now, removing creatures speed from the mod.

Anyway, many thanks for this guide ! Obvious Kudos.

Hey Great mod.  The run/walk speed was definitely too slow.  I used your fast.esp, which was the slowest one and it was great for running up the road, but just a little too fast for talking and interacting in town.  So I tweaked it and put the settings mid-way between default and yours and it seems about perfect to me.  I am linking it here, if you feel like adding it to your folder.   it is just an .esp.  I renamed it to RunFaster-Slowest.esp.
    Thanks for the great mod.

Excellent contribution. Maybe just a tiny bit closer to default would be even better, but still, quite close to the ideal speed as it is.

yeah! it's perfect, i think it should be added too, maybe some people would prefer the original mod instead because of skyrim, but for the most purists this is close to perfection, and it's good to remember that the RunFaster mod changes the speed not only for the player, but for all the npcs and creatures, which can make the game not only more difficult but makes the townfolk people walk faster than ever, and that makes the walking animation looks odd, im really glad that you linked this up, because otherwise i would use the vanilla slug speed instead.

? I just installed it. Still works fine. Make sure to open "Morrowind Launcher" in the games directory. Click data files and enable the run faster esp.

    using "faster" preset. might be a bit too fast for me, but;
god damn, walking finally feels viable now.
i have no idea how people play this game normally (except for mages who i assume just fly and teleport around all day). to move at a regular pace you HAVE to run, but if you run you're constantly out of fatigue. which means unless you carry "restore fatigue" on you at all times, people like the naked nord who "got tricked" by the witch will f*** you up.
