It doesn`t work for some reason - when I load game I get messages about missing textures.
My morr is from Steam, GOTY edition.

      **FIX POSTED BELOW**
I am getting that as well, with the GOTY disks, AND when starting a new game.

But the textures and meshes are there as far as I can see.

I am running MGSO3, and they recommend installing in C:\Morrowind rather than C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind.

Mods are made to use the default directory structure, but that should not affect anything, unless they are corrupted somehow.

      Warnings.txt shows this:

      TES3Stream Warning: Model "Meshes\09mine\09_rock_iron_04.nif" tex not found "c:\program files\bethesda softworks\morrowind\data files\textures\09_grass_dirt_01.dds"!
      Texture Load Error!: c:\program files\bethesda softworks\morrowind\data files\textures\09_grass_dirt_01.dds
      TES3Stream Warning: Model "Meshes\09mine\09_rock_Corrundom_01.nif" tex not found "c:\program files\bethesda softworks\morrowind\data files\textures\09_grass_dirt_01.dds"!
      TES3Stream Warning: Model "Meshes\09mine\09_rock_gold_01.nif" tex not found "c:\program files\bethesda softworks\morrowind\data files\textures\09_grass_dirt_01.dds"!
      TES3Stream Warning: Model "Meshes\09mine\09_rock_silver_01.nif" tex not found "c:\program files\bethesda softworks\morrowind\data files\textures\09_grass_dirt_01.dds"!
      TES3Stream Warning: Model "Meshes\09mine\09_rock_Corrundom_04.nif" tex not found "c:\program files\bethesda softworks\morrowind\data files\textures\09_rock_11.dds"!
      Texture Load Error!: c:\program files\bethesda softworks\morrowind\data files\textures\09_rock_11.dds
      Texture Load Error!: c:\program files\bethesda softworks\morrowind\data files\textures\09_grass_dirt_01.dds
      Texture Load Error!: c:\program files\bethesda softworks\morrowind\data files\textures\09_rock_11.dds

      The actual path is
      c:\morrowind\data files\textures\09_rock_11.dds

Any ideas as I'd really like to use this. As I recall, you could already mine ebony and raw glass in Vanilla, so this would be a great addition.

The problem is that the path for the Texture files (dds) inside the Meshes (nif) that points to the Texture location is the full directory path.

So, if people have not installed to that exact location, the game cannot find the textures as they are not there.

It is better to have the Texture path as "..Data Files\Textures" rather than something like "C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\data Files\Textures"

For example, if someone installs Morrowind on their E:\ drive, or if their OS has C:\Program Files (x86) AS WELL as C:\Program Files, the game will look in the wrong folder; because Morrowind is 32 bit, it will go in Program Files (x86) in Windows 7 etc.

This can be fixed by the mod author and by any user by downloading the latest version of NIF STRIPPER (NIF_Tx_strip_v16.zip or later) from:

      http://rtcvb32.herobo.com/SmartMerger

Put the zip in a folder on your desktop
Unzip the contents there (and unzip any zip inside the zip)
Drag the MESHES folder from your Morrowind Install onto nif_tx_strip.exe
A DOS box will open up and automatically fix all the file location errors for every Mesh and texture in the game.

I tried it and it worked!

If you have the Steam Version, I would play Off-line, as Steam may auto-update, reverse the fixes and break the mod again. That is the main thing I hate about Steam.

But the Author can use Nif Stripper on his own mod before he uploads the next version!

Please keep up the work and maintenance on this Mod as it really adds something to the game.

      Cheers!

Textures and texture paths for this mod are a nightmare. I am currenty working on a new one with all texture paths going to one folder and no textures from BSA being used.

      @ShadeyBladey

So, being new to morrowind, i decided to get this mod, mostly because i like the idea of earning your way through by making your equipment, however, This Specific issue was annoying me, and even caused me to crash at one point...

Then i seen your posts, seen your "Solution", and figured "Eh, why not", tried it, and i must say it, Good sir, Thank you.

Though i do hope the mod creator does eventually fix this issue, i'm just glad to have this kind of mod to begin with! as to any with the issue of missing meshes/ textures for this mod, follow these instructions, they DO in-fact work.

It appears that Nif Stripper isn't available anymore at that location. I tried a couple of other NIF tools but I didn't find one that would batch update the nif files in this mod. You could update them one by one in NifSkope but that would take forever.

To get around this, I created a symbolic link from the missing directory to the actual directory that the textures live in. Here's how to do it in Windows 10 (https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-take-advantage-of-symbolic-links-in-window-10/).

-Open a command line as an administrator. Hit the Windows keys and type command. When the command icon appears, right click on the "Command Prompt" entry and select "Run as an administrator"
-Change directory to the "Program Files" directory on your c: drive with this command: cd "C:\Program Files"
-Create the missing directory structure using this command: mkdir "Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\data Files\"
-Then change to the new directory: cd "Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\data Files\"
-Create the symbolic link with this command: mklink /D textures "\[Your Path Here]\Morrowind\mods\Skyrim crafting for Morrowind\Textures" replacing [Your Path Here] with wherever you have your mod installed.

Since I've done this, I no longer get the missing texture errors associated with this mod.

      Glad to help!

I've not played Morrowind for years, so I just started a new setup and had the problem but completely forgot about the solution!

      Luckily, I saw it here!

I just installed this, and some Bare Essential mods, because some of them required this.

But I cannot even start a new game because of error messages like:

    ES3Stream Warning: Model "Meshes\09mine\09_rock_iron_04.nif" tex not found "c:\program files\bethesda softworks\morrowind\data files\textures\09_grass_dirt_01.dds"!

But the game is installed in C:\Morrowind, to stop problems with various other mods and MGE XE.

Why on Earth would a mod require a particular installation directory? The nifs and dds files are definitely there, as I can search C:\Morrowind and Windows 10 finds them just fine.

Everything was working perfectly until I decided to add some Camping and Crafting mods. How do otyher people use these? And there's no bsa with the mod, just loose textures, meshes, sounds and icons.

And I wasted SO much time making copious notes of my installation and set up procedure.

LOL! I scrolled down and saw people talking about a solution, and then I found it was posted by ME 8 years ago!

      Almost to the day!

      ROFLMAO!

I think I still have Nif Stripper installed, so here goes!

But I do wish someone could take ownership of this mod, or make a new one, as it's required by some Bare Essentials mods!

Can someone pick this mod up? I mean come on. Last update 2012???2012???, Mod is LONG abandoned. It has huge potential but needs to be fixed is there some code of modding conduct that stats a mod can be freely picked up after being left for a given time so it can continue to be worked on? I would but I am s#*! at modding.

Some help as in how to use stuff? I managed to get that nice fix described below and actually run the mod, but I cannot craft anything, because there are no instructions on how to obtain stuff, and so on. I picked an axe, but couldn't extract wood from a chopped down tree in Balmora. Why? No clue.

If someone would fix this mod would be amazing. Im fearfull of using this "nif stipper" myself, drag the whole meshes folder to it and somehow screw up my game, wich I've been carefully modding for so long in my old potato wich is very difficult to make the game work.

I can't seem to find wood at all, which limits what I can craft. Trees everywhere, but no wood to gather.
