Any chance of an update :/
Would use it again if it wasn't so buggy or outdated.

You do realize that a vast majority of Morrowind mods are dead right? Morrowind is a game that came out 16 years ago and it never had a strong modding community to begin with.

Hi, um, I was wondering if anyone can tell me what textures/mods affect Balmora's architecture (especially the ground)? I love the way the city looks in MSGO, but I'm having problems with this overhaul, so I thought maybe I can download a "standalone" somewhere..?
Thanks for your attention in any case.

I have an Issue with the install, i get to the step Morrowind Launcher and it correctly opens the Launcher but then clicks on the ElderScrolls Website and gets stuck in my Browser. Not sure how to deal with this so any help would be appreciated.

The default enchantment texture seems to be broken. Selecting "Shimmer" in the MGSO Options works fine, but selecting Vanilla results in every enchanted item's texture looking like a nearly-flat white. Does anyone know why? I actually like the default enchantment textures more, but they're unusable right now. This is on a vanilla install.

For some strange reason when I download the file it just comes into my downloads as an Adobe Reader (rar) file?
Would anyone know why this is?

There's no way to open it as it doesn't come up as zip or anything.

If you have this "problem" then right click, select "open files with", and open with Winrar, 7zip or whatever you use...
The mod itself does come as an archive..so the problem is on your part

You could try a mod called "Darkness Be Gone" which apparently does just that.
Another solutions is to download a mod called "Skyrimized torches", which just amplifies the radio of your torches by a lot (i use it combined with "True light and darkness, so that the game is very dark, but using torches-spells feels useful)
or, to only use ingame mechanics...yes, just enchant an object with a constant 10-20 nighteye, or (if you want a "permanent torch effect") enchant a ring-amulet-whatever with a "light-self" effect, which will turn your body into a torch

    Question for the helpful-

I have TES III Morrowind on Steam, and when I start it up it has tribunal and bloodmoon installed. However, I get all sorts of errors when I try to install this. ON the second page of necessary checks it reads

Morrowind folder: No, Morrowind files are missing
Latest version: EXE file is missing
Tribunal/Bloodmoon: NO, both expansions are missing.

I just did a fresh install of Morrowind and I'm getting these errors which make no sense to me. I tried starting the step guide and that was too much headache, so I uninstalled, did a fresh reinstall and went to try this, but now get the above errors.

    Help

I have never used the Steam version of Morrowind (I still have the original boxed GOTY edition), but in my travels I have come across posts stating you need to remove "The Steam Overlay.."

Seriously, however... Even if you can get this working... Ultimately it will become a giant headache because it is very out-of-date, and there are numerous bugs; several are game-breaking. The amount of effort required to fix it up is more than doing a scratch install... The STEP Guide isn't that bad, it just requires patience and the willingness to learn and read. Not to mention that using a guide like STEP gives you completely up-to-date tools, patches, plugins and graphics... It's better in every way.

Bregan123, i'll give you the only possible suggestions that come to mind:
first of all (this should be given for granted) do EVERYTHING as an admin, and have your installations NOT BE in the "Program Files" folders...in case create a subsidiary folder and reinstall Morrowind in a path that is pre (not post) the "Program Files" folder, which is where most people (unfortunately) install their games
now, when talking about Morrowind+MGSO in particular:
      A) did you deactivate the Steam Overlay? That causes a lot of problems with MGSO
      B) most importantly: have you launched the game at least once so that it creates the initialization files? (which will auto register tribunal's & bloodmon's BSAs)
if yes then..what i'm going to suggest you may sound controversial, but trust me, it will save you some headaches: ... crack it... it's easy to find and, since you have a legal copy, it's legal.
Using steam can really be an annoyance with MGSO
Otherwise, if you have 10 euro to spend, the best version to use is, by far, the one on GoG (which as a little extra includes also the official plugins that you have otherwise to download on your own)
That said: as Sonja said MGSO is a real headache..even when it instals without problems, many of it's files are veeery outdated, and some of the most infamous errors that you WILL encounter that cause crashes (the infamous "glow meshes missing" "furn_de_table_03" model missing "wnd_tree missing" etc) require various tweaks to work..
If you manage to install it correctly, anyway, i give you some MANDATORY suggestions:
      A) download the "MGSO temporary patch"....it will fix the most egregious crashes that you would, otherwise, encounter almost for sure
      B) [kinda optional] download and use MGE XE 0.10.0 and replace the version that is included with MGSO...it's sooo much better and stable

Have you launched Morrowind at least 1 time? Try to get (without MGSO installed) to the main menu screen of the game...that will create the initialization file, which (in theory) should auto-register the expansions
Also, do all the steps, including launching the game, as Admin, otherwise it could mess the way the program scans for folders (and not only that)
