I'm trying to install the mod, but I just can't get through the whole process because while I'm doing the EXE OPTIMIZER part and at the point when it is decompiling, it finds an error (access to fpu.exe negated) which blocks everything and blocks the entire process. I could use some help and if there is no solution aveilable I would like to hear about some other mods with similar features as MGSO. My problem is to find a mod which enhances the distance of sight and some bug fixes; something this mod should be able to give me, if it could work properly.

Hey everyone Im having an issue with the installer not detecting my Graphics card, Im using a laptop with one integrated Intel graphics card and a Nvidia GTX 970M dedicated graphics card. The installer says: Your VGA is unknown. Probably its an integrated chip.

Anyone dealt with the same issue? I would really appreciate any help.

    Thanks

This might be a bit late but I also had the same problem. I fixed it by going into my Nvidia settings and forcing it to use my nvidia gpu as the default instead of the integrated card

I've used Morrowind Overhaul in the past just fine, but it's been a couple years, and now my game crashes , A LOT. Almost always when I'm interacting with an NPC. Like when I try to talk to them or when I'm in the shopping menu. Anybody have any idea what could be causing that?

    MISSING SOUND FILES

When I downloaded this everything worked fine except the new faces and crosshair weren't working (and a couple other improvements that i specifically checked the boxes of) and when I got out of the boat the game crashed telling me:

"Sound file not found: data files\sound\Fx\REGN\wndCALM3.wav
    Continue running executable?"

I clicked yes but the game was still frozen. I've tried opening it back up multiple times and the same thing happens.
    What should I do?

update: I read somewhere that someone said if you toggle "Realistic Light" and "Realistic Dark" then it deletes vanilla sound files from your game folder. has anyone else had this problem?

if so, is there a way to get those files back without uninstalling and reinstalling the whole game and mod again?

Im assuming your using the steam version. Its unlikely but there's a chance that when you downloaded the base game it was corrupted somehow and one of the files wasn't fully downloaded. I would delete it from steam, delete everything in the folder, then reinstall it from steam and unpack overhaul again. In the long run this would probably be easier then trying to figure out the solution to this one specific issue. Other then that just make sure you follow the instructions of the installer carefully.

PROBLEM in the "Morrowind Graphics Extender- Configuration" in the setup

The problem is that, when the Setup finish the process is shows up a message like this:
There has been an error during the opening of MGE. Please make sure that you
installed the correct runtimes and frmaworks. You can find the link for them in
      the install guide.
I already search for the link and the link are discontinued. I will try the Patch 1.1 but if somebody can help me with this, i'll really appreciate it.

i know right? I have the same issue. The sounds im sure your referring to (cat/dog noises and annoying voices in stores) are the work of Atmospheric sound effects 3.0. I looked through the morrowind overhaul installer multiple times trying to find the option to disable this garbage and as far as I can tell it does not exist. Its driving me crazy. I have no idea why there isn't an option to disable it, but the creator of the mod included a blank sound file that you can use to get rid of sounds you don't want by copying it and renaming it, then replacing the one you don't like. The problem with this is there are about 100 tavern noises... It would be much easier to disable the whole thing... The part of the installation where it handles atmospheric sound effects is one of the automated sections where it takes the mouse from you :(

That's annoying, at first I just ignored the sounds but I'm a good 10hrs in and its all starting to grate there's the cat and tavern noises but also random effects like when you cast an illusion spell you get this weird children laughing sound...its weird...also I picked up a poison short blade and when it hits it makes this really loud wailing sound on strike...just getting painful to play now. If there's no way to change it I think Ill have to bite the bullet and uninstall the mod and mod the game the old fashioned way piece by piece. :/

Good news though! I just figured it out! I didn't think of it before since this collection of mods has its own automated installer, but all the mods and plugins will actually still show up in nexus mod manager, which means you can actually disable specific pieces of it through there. I just popped over to NMM and looked in the plugins list and sure enough, there was atmospheric sound effects. I disabled that s*** and no more cats and loud tavern noises! If that doesn't get rid of all the weird sounds just try and disable some of the other audio plugins. I havent gotten out of the starting area so I dont know about illusion sounds and whatnot or which plugin is changing those. Worst comes to worst you run vanilla sound but tbh I thought vanilla sounds were fine lol. Anyway, this should fix the issues :D

(also I should note that disabling the atmospheric sound effects plugin did not brick my save. It came up with a few warnings that some things were changed but I just hit continue all 3 times something popped up and then it was fine. I saved again and on subsequent loads everything was normal)

Awesome, I will give that a shot thanks for the tip! With the illusion spell sound it is just charm I believe but they pretty much all spells seem to have horrid additional sounds to them as far as i can tell I was happy with vanilla sounds too.
