Use Virnetch's Customizable MWSE Multi Mark and Harder Recall (or Melian's Teleport Mod if you don't have the latest MWSE).


Before 2005 only a few select companions could follow when the player teleported. Improved Teleportation (and it's little brother Companion Teleportation) made traveling with companions easier and even provided some relief from the horrors of the escort quests.

Improved Teleportation provides companion friendly and multiple location teleport spells that allow you to keep your companions and even other followers near you when you teleport.

1) Any NPC or creature followers will actually be able to follow when the player uses teleportation magic. If the player uses scripted transport (like the Propylon Chambers) a simple no-cost spell, Companion Teleport, can summon the current set of followers to the player's new location.

2) The Greater Mark and Greater Recall spells allow the player to store and return to nine locations, which can be anywhere, even interior cells added by other plugins.

Note: You can buy the new mark and recall spells from J'Rasha the Healer in Vivec, but only after you've asked around about teleportation magic. Try talking to Surane Leoriane in Caldera or Only He Stands There in Balmora. And all of them will need to like and trust you so don't go rushing to them straight from the boat. Wait until you would meet the naturally for best results.)

MWSE (Morrowind Script Extender) and either Bloodmoon or the GOTY edition are required.

If you have an aversion to running external programs try Companion Teleportation instead. Companion Teleportation combined with the classic MultiMark mod will give you most of the features of Improved Teleportation, but only in exterior cells. You'll still need Bloodmoon and Tribunal or the GOTY edition of the game though.


SPECIAL NOTES FOR MOD AUTHORS:

If you want to temporarily disable teleportation and companion summoning for some locations or time periods in your mod, it's very easy. Create a Short global variable named "cdc_teleportation" and set it's initial value as 0. If Improved Teleportation or Companion Teleportation is running they will change it to 1. When you want to prevent teleporting, set it's value to -1 (if it was 1) or decrease it by one (if it was already negative). When you are ready to allow teleportation change it back.

If your companion has a custom teleport script, create the "cdc_teleportation" global and then simply check it's state. If it's not zero you can deactivate your built-in teleport script and let IT or CT take over.
