Anyone know of an OpenMW compatible version of this?

    [Edit]
Nevermind, I found that this feature was already implemented in that, it just needed to be activated! Saves me some frustration, right there...

      go to documents\mygames\openmw
find "settings.cfg" (not to be confused with settings-default.cfg, which is in the main install folder and will be overruled by this one)
underneath [input], on a new line, type toggle sneak = true

      that should do it

Hello from 2022 I get: "# invalid setting: toggle sneak = true"

When I try this in OW 0.47

Edit: turns out in newer version of OW you can just tick "toggle sneak" in OW launcher, under settings.

Literally just doesn't work. When I'm not getting error reports that the script doesn't work, I'm still not able to toggle it on and off.

This mod requires MGE, thus it's not compatible with OpenMW.
If you're using regular Morrowind, the toggle sneak feature is included in the Morrowind Code Patch (essential for regular Morrowind).
If you're using OpenMW, see joebobman's reply.

This mode is weird. Requires complicated settings for such simple change. Installing mode should not require more then copy esp.

I assume you can assign the sneak (toggle*) key to anything. I have tried to assign the sneak key to left shift (left shift is either 0x2a (according to MGE) or 0xa0 (according to Microsoft) and in either case, regardless of the decimal value I enter (either 42 or 160) I cant get the key assigned to left shift.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

ps the mod is installed properly because I can get the toggle sneak vanilla key to work (l ctrl)

EDIT: Found a solution: Just use the toggle sneak included with Morrowind Code Patch, it auto-assigns to your selected key.

evilhyde, since this is labeled as specifically for MGE, I'm guessing that it just won't work for XE since XE had a lot of coding changes. The mod itself probably needs an update for compatibility purposes.

Can't get this mod to work with MGE XE & MWSE. I don't get an error that I can see, it simply doesn't function. Any tips?

It already is on the Morrowind Nexus: Toggle Sneak

The Morrowind and Oblivion file sites used to be together, but when they were separated some time ago, some of the links didn't exactly make the transition. You do see some older MW mods listed on the Oblivion Nexus, with their comments but with no files linked. But just enter the same file number on the Morrowind Nexus page and you'll find the mod intact with its files. This works for any other MW mods you might see still listed on the Oblivion site.
