About this image
One might consider the palpable irony of the Colovian's armor; a race once fully enslaved by their Ayleid masters whom broke free from the yoke of rule, now wears armor traditional of gladiators as their highest form of paraphernalia? In Cyrodiil, slaves have a strange and almost religious status; while Mer look down on the freedman or servile bloodlines, the Imperials have embraced it; even the highest of their families have descended from the lowest of slaves. So it therefore is no wonder that the Imperial nobility dons the armor of the gladiator or decorated bronze shackles in imitation of their forefathers and heroes. In this instance, this Colovian warlord is also wearing a thick lionpelt from the Oloman coast, thick enough to catch arrows and shrug off blows.
