About this image

renamed vanilla ashland trees so they don't get replaced by vurts ashland trees and some BC and WG trees with ashland tree texture
other stuff mostly inspired by grim dawn...
posting in case someone has some suggestions....
(glowing crystals popping in from distant land, here's hoping adjusting texture brightness on the _dist mesh will improve it somewhat...)

Is the idea somewhat to allow for model replacers other than Vurts to still function and so add variety? I suppose one direction may be to assume that the ash provides some degree of fertility, but the blight kills plants off. So any plants like trees or mushrooms may look sickly. For instance the Elder Scrolls Online had rather brown and droopy looking mushrooms used there.

Perhaps you could look at the plants included in the mod Days of Fire and include ashlands variants? I.e. more grey coloured plants with white areas to indicate some malignant element to indicate that they aren't doing so well in the region?

Colour wise you seem to be aiming for purple tones. This is perhaps a bit striking - which is why I'd favour more browns, oranges and greys. Particular when paired with lava pools or the yellow sulphur ponds included in the Great Scathes mod. Some colour works, however it definitely would give the region a different tone if its awash with purple rather than more muted colours.

As a concept I'm all for mods like this. Adding some variety to the flora's always good - particularly with mods like Vurts which go a bit overkill with the same type of plant everywhere. I'd keep the plants, just reign back the purple a bit. :D

thanks for taking the time to write your comment.

here some more detail about what it should become

i use and really like vurts ashland trees, but i want those to be in the ashlands region and not here. ( but replacers could be made, just not by me xD ) for now is used vanilla tress, not decided yet if i make new trees of just fix uv maps... there are a lot of objects, and for me vurts trees would be to much.

about the weather, there will be no blight/ash storms in this region (atm thinking of having a lot of cloudy and overcast than rain and a sliver clear)
next to it is a telvanni/azuras coast region. and if you by chance played grim dawn or guild wars 2 and remember the corrupted regions? (grim dawn green crystals and guild wars 2 purple crystals) i'm going for something like that. ( including enemies affected, so corrupted purple theme is set xP )
also i have no plans to have lava pools in this region or sulphur... but it's early and who knows maybe i try and see if it fits...

and yes i think the purple on the "palm" like flower i will de-saturate somewhat, the rest i think is already pretty de-saturated. so maybe i leave the flower for something besides the crystals to pop out... not sure yet. but i get your point.

going to have a look at Days of Fire

      again thanks for your input

      cheers
(disclaimer xD i'm open to ideas and interested in other opinions but in the end i'm just going to do whatever i want. whatever i do what i want xDD )

Oh, sorry I was looking at this as being an Ashlands replacer-  not a new region. Right, that makes more sense. :D
