About this image

This isn't, as such, related to the above image, but today I re-watched one of my favourite videos on Morrowind, by one of my favourite Lets Players... I really recommend sitting down and taking the time to watch this.. It was published in 2014, so many may have already seen it, but if you haven't, it's well worth it:

Why You Should Still Play Morrowind Today, by SorcererDave.

Very nice, although personally I would change the Hlaalu textures. A matter of taste I suppose.

      Cheers
I do periodically switch around my textures, and I was recently thinking it may be time for another change. I may give these a try: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46009

Yeah those or Tyddy's Arkitektora textures are what I use. I like to keep it close to the vanilla style.

I just installed them, and they look quite lovely, indeed. So thanks for the reminder. I know I'd been intending to try something new when I last left off from the game, but it had slipped my mind.
As to lore... I am not, as such, a lore purist, but I do like to create a cohesive feel, and the new set certainly achieves that a bit better.

I don't remember my TES III ever looking this good. Nice work!

      Thank you
I used the STEP guide as a rough base, but after that, did my own thing.

Looks mighty impressive for a game that is sixteen years old...

This is the thing about Morrowind... many incredible mods have been made for it, and the game polishes up beautifully. I'd actually argue that it's as least as pretty as modded Oblivion, if not more so in certain ways.
I know very little about the technical side of things, but my suspicion is that it's because the original models, sky/lighting and water were well done and provide an excellent base to work on.. but that's just hypothesising, of course. .
