About this image
Hi all!
I recently started working on my UI project again. Here's a finished (for now) splash screen that I completed recently. All assets from this splash screen were created from scratch. The font is the Open Source "Pelagiad" font the OpenMw project uses, the background was created by yours truly, and the Silt Strider was traced by hand in illustrator to recreate the "hand drawn" effect the game's original splash screens had.
I plan to create a large number more of these, and have support for various aspect ratio monitors at high resolutions. In fact, the full res version of this particular splash screen is 4096x2160, full 4K. I can crop it down to a number of high resolutions including ultrawide, standard 16:9 & 16:10, and 4:3.
Let me know if you have any critiques or suggestions, and I'll try to implement any important changes going forward. :)

I agree with Melchior, text should be reduced or even deleted. C'mon, only true fans play in Morrowind these days, and everybody knows what Silt Strider is. After a week of playing, text fill fed up everyone, (just remember Skyrim and its tips, even devs made an option to turn them off) but amazing pictures are not the same. You can look at them forever and never get bored during loadings (I'm just recalling my experience of Morrwind).
edit: only critique I'd give is that the text seems a bit too up front. Maybe add a touch of transparency and reduce the font size by 2 or more. Let people enjoy your trace work first and read the text second.
I might just go back to the PC style splash screens, with just the name of the prevalent thing in the scene, this one just saying "Silt Strider". It was a much more subtle way of doing things that was still informative.
I still have those old UI files you'd done from years ago, this looks like it'll be the real deal! :D
