    I wonder if there are other places these water ripples would be of added value.

      Main problem would be to get the coordinates. There seems to be no other way than trial and error. Plus the way of implementation is rather inefficient, that's where the fps hit comes from.

      I have no clue how to work with water shaders, but is it actually possible to make ripples appear around a certain activator? In a way that you'd have to load an esp with a dedicated activator object placed at all the places you want a water ripple to appear?

      It's not possible to attach shaders to objects. But you can place waves like these anywhere in the game world via shaders. There are two obstacles, though. First, you'll need to have the world coordinates to set the waves up - and there is no way I know to get these coordinates other than trial and error. This means you'll change coordinates in the shader and see where things move in the game word, which is a very tedious process, because you'll have to edit the shader and restart the game every single time to see what your changes actually do. Water belongs to core shaders and you cannot change these on the fly. And second, this way of implementation via coordinates is not very efficient, it will be performance hungry.

      Well then, it seems OpenMW might add another feature to their to do list :p
