EDIT:
Updated for the ATX Patch. Your game will work fine until ATKT weapons release, so patch your transmog presets now (only the dat files updated)!

What's this mod?

This mod provides 37 unique models for either premade transmogs provided or for your own choice of transmogs through Aradi's tool. The goal is to make bows as visually varied as they are in terms of stats and usage. The transmog presets replace every single bow family (and have one to spare). There a three transmog presets. This mod also includes all the bows from part 1 and part 2 which have been remastered from their original release to take into accounts findings in materials, textures and animations.

The bow models are heavily inspired by models from previous games in the series and three new completely unique bows.

Of the unique bows 144- Solfulgure was done in commemoration of the triple TA WR (at the time of the making) by Alessia for Teostra, Lunastra and Thronetaker.

Please read the installation instructions further below, thanks to advances in our knowledge of the game setup has changed to be much more flexible.

Installation Instructions:
bow.wp_dat_g is a file found on nativePC/common/equip, it controls what model each bow uses. You may have it from previous mods, if you don't that's fine as the transmog presets provide you with one.
I don't have a modified bow.wp_dat_g and I like the replacements in the list below:
  • Download both the models file and the bow.wp_dat_g  file and move them into nativePC
  • You are done, enjoy.

From this point forward you will need the following tool:
Aradi's Weapon Transmog Tool

I don't have a modified bow.wp_dat_g and I DON'T like the replacements in the list below:
  • Download both the models file and one of the preset  files (any) and move them into nativePC
  • Using Aradi's Weapon Transmog Tool edit the bow.wp_dat_g file in nativePC (the preset includes this file) as desired (it includes a reset to default button). Instructions at the bottom of the description or on his mod's page.

have a modified bow.wp_dat_g (from my previous bow pack, hex's mod or anything else):
  • Download both the models files and move them into nativePC
  • Using Aradi's Weapon Transmog Tool edit the bow.wp_dat_g file you already have in nativePC as desired. Instructions at the bottom of the description or on his mod's page.

Mod Compatibility:
Installation instructions allows you to install this mod together with any other mod that's not using the same folder IDs.

This mod's bow.wp_dat_g file conflicts with the previous pack (they replace some of the same models), also most people won't enjoy ALL of the bows in this pack. Thus it's easier to manually select which ones you want to replace if you already have a dat. In that sense both packs are compatible in that you can do your own remappings if you wish but they aren't out of the box compatible.

This project took close to a month and a half, between actually working with the models, textures and ingame material maps and actual pure research. A lot of that time was spent running against the walls of Capcom files and formats because we simply had no idea how to pull half of the things I wanted to do. From the start of this project, which started when the blender plugin had been close to just released, to the end, where we now understand how to move bones, edit materials freely and include nature effects into weapons, there has been a gargantuan mass of both brawn and brain power pushing the modding research into this game, and my work is but a speck among the massive contributions that other's have had to the area. In no particular order:

The MHW Modding Discord, and all of its amazing community that I'm glad to be part, we are close to half a year since the game launched and we've come a long long way.

CrazyT, without whom this would all be close to literally impossible. For making the blender model importer, but also for the research templates into mrl3 and mod3 which sparked DMQW and the MHW Modding Discord to start serious research into the files. For help with debugging a myriad of issues both with the model importer and with specific files in my project. His technical input was and is invaluable in every sense and were it not for his work model work would be close to impossible and material research would be nonexistant.

Ezekial, for his help with the models and textures, being a bouncing board for ideas, helping me with illustrating the description and generally being a great dude. His reproduction of previous generations of weapons was what inspired this project as well.

Jodo from DMQW for his invaluable early breakthroughs on material research which allowed us to have glow and lightworks. But more generally also lead us to understand how to do the first edits of mrl3 files. His NoChunkTool is an invaluable asset and his texture converter might be the single most used program in the entirety of this work. His experience with materials was invaluable when debugging very late stages of research for which I'm very thankful.

RyuNStage from DMQW for his help with materials. I highly appreciate his translations of the early documentation.

UberGrainy for unknowingly being of great help. Her tutorials on the site ended through very odd ways being good reference points for deeper fixes that we managed to get into the importer after figuring out the root cause from her ingenious solutions.

Vuze for supplying the mod3 material name to mrl3 hashing algorithm and his World Chunk Tool without which there'd be no modding in MHW.

Dallagen for his input on the process of figuring out the RMT and CMM mapping functionality.

Aradi147 for his Weapon Transmog Tool so that I don't have to do a billion combinations every time someone wants specific replacements.

Moogle Outfitters and Tiffli from Deviantart for their model references used in the non-Old World Bows.
kurokairaku for his work on model references used in the non-Old World Bows.

Known Issues:
There is a known issue with sounds missing that is currently being researched. It's not all sounds just DragonPiercer arrow being dragged on the ground and applying coatings.
