Stones and redpits can now be loaded as arrows, replacing the previous, well, stones and redpits.
Functionally they're identical, but it looks much nicer.

Monsters

Four new monsters featured in quests, alongside one reskin with updated model of the Pink Rathian.

Cockatrice

"Foolish superstitions claim cockatrices, like basiliks, can kill with their gaze alone. That is utter nonsense, however, a cockatrice's gaze being no more dangerous than that of an angry goose. One should instead watch out for it's sharp beak and long tail, which it can whip to murderous effect."

"Cockatrices do not shun direct fights, in which they strike furiously with wing and tail in an attempt to exhaust their foes. Blows from their beaks are especially dangerous, as they aim with deadly precision at exposed flesh and vital organs and leave bleeding, life-threatening wounds."

The cockatrice is a vicious monster that will both lash out with its razor sharp talons and beak, as well as spit poison and fire from afar.
Take precaution or you might incur bleeding from its attacks!

Chort

"Chorts are smaller than fiends, true. But still big enough to kill. -Agnes Thistle, herbalist from the Black Forest.

Chorts are the somewhat smaller kin of fiends and bumbakvetches. Yet any witcher who thinks their diminutive stature means they present no danger commits a grave error- the kind that can end his career permanently. These denizens of dark and ancient woods are some of the most dangerous monsters known to man."

Weak to fire and quick to rage, chorts are highly aggressive and repeated hits will quickly result in bleeding. While not known to use any form of magic in the Witcher's world, their latent third eye has been awoken to a limited extent after entering whatever rift led them to our own.

Fiend

"I regret to inform Your Grace that Your Grace's son fell while hunting a fiend. He died on the spot, along with his squire, his guide, the beaters, his peasant entourage and his hounds.
– Kavin Jell, manager of the Villepin Estate near Vizima.

Fiends are walking mountains of muscle capped with horned, tooth-filled heads. Like their rarer cousins, bumbakvetches, they live in thick forests, swamps and bogs. When possible they avoid humans, but when not possible, they kill them, and without much difficulty."

Stare too deeply into the third eye of a Fiend, and hunters will find themselves paralyzed.  Similar to the chort, fiends' already active third eye has been amplified, making them deadly from afar.

Tarry Chort

A rare cousin to the already deadly chort, this variation is even more fierce with a tougher hide and a far greater temper. Little else is known about them, even amongst experienced Witchers, so tread carefully when facing these dangerous foes.

Wyvern

Ordinary folk often mistake wyverns for dragons. Witchers, however, immediately recognize these flying lizards, which tread upon the ground on two heavily-muscled legs. They also know that when fighting this beast, they must avoid the venomous stinger at the end of its tail and its jaws that bristle with deadly teeth.

*The Pink Rathian is unchanged outside of its appearance in order to make it a bit more interesting amongst all of the other Raths.

New Contracts and Quests

Several new contracts are available under the "Optional" section starting at Master Rank level 3 and ending at 6, offering different kinds of rewards. Some will have you face off against a single target, while others will have two or three. Rewards offer Gold (alongside Zenny), Unity Symbols, Conqueror's Seals, Melding Tickets, Feystones, tickets to craft the armor, and even Dracolite.

While the Master Rank levels somewhat reflect on difficulty (MR3 being easier than MR6), they mostly serve to separate the contracts and quests to make it easier to follow the order. MR3 quests serve as an introduction, MR4 introduce the monsters "officially" in the quest descriptions, while MR5 and MR6 introduce more challenge.

Quest Language Translations

Instructions/Q & A

Monster and Quest Installation:
The Monster and Quest files are all included in one, but need to be installed to the nativePC directory to work.

If you are using another language, please download and install the Quest Language Pack as well so that the quests show up in your game, again because of the file sizes. Again, the quests have been translated in a spreadsheet if you're interested in what they say; there were far too many to go through and individually translate in the GMD editor versus continuing to work on everything else.

Armors and Weapons just have to placed in nativePC.

Q: Why are some of the default colors different from the pictures, e.g. Ursine waist and the Skellige set being black?
A: This is because of the dye system. If I left the Ursine waist red or the Skellige set green, then dying them black would actually not work and they would instead only be dark red or dark green. This way, you can set the colors to whatever you want with the dyes and still have proper black. The only exception is the Wolven (Wolf) set, which has some kind of baked-in restriction set on the specific base armor pieces I used to make the torso.

Q: Can I change the armor or weapon slot being used?
A: Yes, all textures are located in separate folders, which the .mrl3 files (in the "mod" folders) links to, so every armor set and weapon can be changed to anything else. Simply rename all files under the "mod" folder and ONLY the "mod" folder to match whichever armor set or weapon you want to use instead.

Armor IDs can be found here: https://github.com/Ezekial711/MonsterHunterWorldModding/wiki/Armor-IDs
Weapon IDs can be found here: https://github.com/Ezekial711/MonsterHunterWorldModding/wiki/Weapon-IDs

Do note that because of how dyes work in terms of textures, the dye system will only work properly on either Alpha or Gamma sets.

Q: Is it possible to use the Witcher Crossbow or Geralt Crossbow Slinger on other armor sets?
A: Yes. Simply go into the armor file nativePC/pl/m_equip (or f_equip)/plXXX_XXXX/arm/mod and place the provided m_arm000_0000.evam (or f_arm000_0000.evam) file there renamed following the above plXXX_XXXX naming.

For example, to replace the Alloy set's crossbow you would rename the file m_arm004_0000.evam and place it under NativePC/pl/m_equip/pl004_0000/arm/mod/m_arm0004_0000.evam.

So long as the rest of the slinger mod is installed in NativePC/wp/slg/..., then the .evam file will point there regardless of armor set.

Q: Sometimes the Geralt Crossbow Slinger looks odd, like bow arms are missing. Is this normal?
A: This is a rare bug that happens with the Witcher's Crossbow when used outside of the vanilla Witcher armor. I don't know what causes it, but it corrects itself when reloading your character. That's partially why I just made my own that does animate properly on sets other than the Geralt armor.

Q: Are the quests translated?
A: No, quests only have the requisite language file names so that they still show up in-game, but the quests themselves are English. I have included a spreadsheet that has all of the quests translated, but manually inputting them in the editor and exporting would have taken far too long given more important priorities.

Q: Is there any big difference between the Eredin Longsword and Greatsword?
A: Other than some resizing and angle shifting, not really. I mostly included both in case people prefer playing with one or the other or both.

Q: Is there no female Wild Hunt set?
A: I first tried to make a female Eredin armor set, but it looked weird. It was too weird, so I scrapped it.

Q: Why doesn't the Nekker Warrior's head change color?
A: :This is a limitation of the dye system and I guess the game itself since it greys out the ability to dye the Nekker's head. Fortunately, the body and head have a very cohesive join so there is no seam when dyed.

Q: Why does your Palico look like a dog, and will the Dandelion Palico set make my Palico into a dog?
A: No, I used the Palico Dog mod, so your Palico will still look like a cat.

Q: Can I make quests using the new monsters?
A: Be my guest. Just make sure to link to this mod so people can download the monsters file first. Otherwise, all of the necessary monster and SOBJ files that I've used are included.

Q: Why didn't you change the projectiles from Chorts and Fiends?
A:  A special thank you to LyraVeil here, as Rajang and especially Furious Rajang require a degree of .exe editing that is way above my skill grade. As a result, there was only so much I could with their actual projectiles.

Q: Will you be continuing to update this mod?
A: I'm absolutely Witcher'd out and have a few more projects that I would rather divert all of my attention towards over continuing anything Witcher. Although The Witcher could not be any more of a perfect match for Monster Hunter, it's also extremely limiting - especially in terms of weapons. I've been working on several other projects as I've learned, so this is most likely going to be the end of any Witcher X Monster Hunter from me.
