Sum of the changes:
This mod contains three modules.
1. Motion Values (Full/Half). These add motion values to gunlance shells. As far as I am aware, MV damage does NOT scale with skills like artillery, but DOES scale with raw. With one these modules, increasing the raw of your gunlance with augments, skills, and items will increase shelling damage as well. This is independent of the flat damage of the shells. If the Full version is too strong for your tastes, use the Half version. ONLY use one of these.
2. Shell Damage Tweaks. This halves the flat damage of the shells to make up for their new motion values and keep the damage reasonable, while not invalidating the various levels of shells. It also gives better full burst damage to normal shells, better charge shot damage to wide shells, and reduces the sharpness loss from wide shelling from 2 to 1. This now means that long charged shots will no longer dominate when it comes to shelling DPS.
3. Increased Shell Range. As its name implies, this greatly increases the range or "Capsule Length" at which the various shells will hit. It may look odd, but it feels good. The way it is now, wide shells have a much longer range and width, normal shells have twice the length of wide, and long have thrice the length. Charged shots will increase the range of all shells. This does not mean that you will be able to get bowgun range out of your lance, but it does mean you will actually be firing things that resemble bullets.
All modules are optional and can be used independently of each other. I suggest using all of them, with the half motion values. I would have added elemental damage to shells, but that proved to be impossible with the game's mechanics (despite charge blade having the same file structure and still dealing elemental phial damage, making me think gunlance shells are hardcoded to never deal elemental damage). I may make a modified MV chart for the lance attacks that makes them more important for elemental damage if anyone is interested.
You can find the motion values in the images section if you want to look them over.
