Check out my new projects, TWJon's Big Weapon and Armor mods.
They're going to pretty much be a better version of this, with actual MHW quality models and textures, full layered weapon comparability, and way more designs. Plus, you can participate in and contribute to it.

Tired of MHW's slap on weapons?
This mod replaces every weapon part in the game with a unique weapon.
  • Monsters that had weapons in past games have their original weapons restored.
  • Monsters that never had a unique weapon have new ones created by retexturing and editing old weapons, or made from other models in MHW.
  • Monsters that have both a slap on part and a unique weapon have had the slap on replaced with a random joke or fan favorite weapon from past games.
  • Lunastra weapons have been replaced with her original weapons from past games/modified Teostra weapons to match her original theme.
There's also a fish weapon for every weapon that didn't have one, just for fun.
New to the 2.0 update, this mod now features total weapon tree compatibility, and custom names for every weapon.

This mod comes in two different versions.
Each has it's own benefits and drawbacks. Choose the ONE that best suits your needs.
Installing both could lead to less than desirable results.

Weapon Tree Version
Use this version if you want to play through the game with more weapon variety, or just don’t have layered weapons unlocked.
Using Aradi147’s Weapon Transmog Tool, I have created a new version of the mod optimized for people who want to use this mod before Iceborne’s endgame.

Pros:
-This technique allows the weapons to have substantially more detail.
There are too many small improvements to list here (you can find a full list of the ones I could remember in the readme), so here are a few noteworthy ones.
  • Custom sheathed positions to reduce clipping into the hunter’s model
  • Animations when charging Great Swords
  • Bowgun bow arms fold in when sheathed
  • Gunlances have parts that light up or move after Wyvern’s Fire is used
  • Custom weapons for every Lunastra combination
  • Additional details for every single weapon class

-This version does not require replacing anything or making anything invisible
You even get to keep the slap on parts. This version follows Capcom's vision of having weapons be slap ons in low rank which become unique in high rank. I got some angry messages from people who were big fans of this idea, so here's the version for you.

-This version works as one file and does not require add ons.
This version has the adjusted weapon tree and custom names packed into the file, and only requires you to download the one main file.

Cons:
-The weapons in this version have no sound effects.
There is no fixing this, MHW is
extremely restrictive with how sound effects are used, how long they can be, and what can play what sounds. All of the sound parameters are locked in the .exe, meaning they cannot be changed at all. It’s not as bad as it sounds, lots of actions do still have some sounds, but things like sheathing will be silent. If you’re looking to play through the game with this mod, try this version first, and if you just can’t get past the lack of sounds, try the other version.

-This version is completely incompatible with Layered Weapons.
Don’t even try to swap out bowgun barrels, it won’t work. There’s no crashing risk, the weapons just aren’t in the menu. If you get to the point where this is a problem, switch out to the Part Replacer Version + Weapon Tree Fix add on. Other then some weapon names changing around, it'll be relatively seamless to switch between them.

-A few weapons aren't in this version.
Since this a weapon tree only version, it doesn't include the few weapons that would not have shown up on the tree at all. The lost ones are the joke or extra fan favorite weapons. If you want to know what they are, it's generally the bottom row of weapons in all of the images. It's not really a problem since you'd have never seen them anyway, but I figured it was worth mentioning.

Part Replacer Version
This is for people who are in Iceborne’s endgame and want more options to spice up their appearance.
The part replacer version is the original version of the mod, which simply swaps out the models of all the weapon parts for unique weapons. This version of the mod is intended to be used with the game's layered weapon system, which is unlocked after beating Stygian Zinogre in the Guiding Lands. To use it, layer your weapon's base as the first bone weapon on the list, which has been made to appear invisible. Then, pick the new weapon you want from the parts list.

It’s a bit jank, but it gets the job done. If you have even a passing interest in the weapon tree and the weapons in it, you’re going to need one or more of the add on files. There are 3 to choose from.

1) Weapon Tree Fix
This adjusts the models used in the weapon tree so that no invisible weapons ever show up on their own, and only weapons intended to appear with the monster on that tree will show up. Meaning no random corn gunlance that turns into the rathalos one with this. Additionally, it includes the custom names from the weapon tree version of the mod. I’d still advise trying the Standalone Weapon Tree version first, as this does not magically make the slap on parts capable of all the features in that version.

In addition, this adds custom parts for all of the Lunastra Weapon variants and a rusty insect glaive for the dragonbone tree. Unfortunately, these things can't be layered, but if you need them, you can swap out the files with something else of use Aradi147’s Weapon Transmog Tool.

2) All Iron and Bone invisible
There’s really not much need for this now that there’s a weapon tree for this version, but I’ve included it here just in case someone still wants it for some reason. It makes all base Iron and Bone weapons invisible, instead of just the first bone one.

3) All Kulve Taroth Invisible
The Weapon Tree add on does not change Kulve Taroth weapons at all, so if you plan on using those, you will need this file, which makes all but the glowing Kjarr ones invisible. You can also use Aradi147’s Weapon Transmog Tool to fix them to your liking. You can also do nothing, the Kulve weappons will just look like two weapons rendered on top of each other. It's perfectly functional, and some people even seem to like it for some reason.

Pros:
-Compatible with both the Weapon Tree and Layered Weapons
The Weapon Tree Version is not compatible with layered weapons, but this one can be used in both the weapon tree and layered if you install the Weapon Tree Fix Add-On.

-Everything has sound effects
If you the lack of them in the Weapon Tree Edition was just too distracting for you, give this version a shot. It has it's own flaws, but you may not use a weapon that is significantly effected, or may not even notice them.

-More weapons then the other one
Since this version was originally created as a big fashion hunter party mod for people who had beaten Iceborne, this version has a few more weapons, like a teddybear hammer or corn gunlance.

-Completely removes slap on weapons from the game.
The Weapon Tree version aims to follow Capcom's vision by having weapons that gradually transition from base to unique. However, this version has everything be unique from it's very first upgrade with the Weapon Tree Add on.

Cons:
-You lose the first bone weapon of every weapon type
One weapon must be made invisible in order to have weapon parts display on their own. It may sound liek a bummer, but I've never met anyone who's favorite weapon is the bone one. If this is a deal breaker, try the Weapon Tree Version instead.

-Due to the way the game handles weapon parts, many features won't work on the part replacer version.
"Issues" include:
  • Weapon glowing effects (Charge Blade shields don't glow when charged, Dual Blades don't glow in demon mode, etc.) do not happen on weapon parts.
  • Gunlances do not have parts that glow red hot after using wyvern's fire.
  • Some weapons that had transforming parts in past games, like the Zinogre great sword, do not have those.
  • It isn't possible to have the part of a glaive that changes color with the kinsect on weapon parts.
  • It isn't possible to significantly alter weapon sheathed positions or weapon rack positions, so if you see a weird one, it's not a bug, I just decided making a fun weapon was more important then it looking correct all the time.
I tried to include as much detail as possible, but there are severe limitations to what is possible with weapon parts.

You seeing multiple weapons rendered on top of each other is not a bug. This includes Lunastra weapons. Failure on your part to read the mod description and install the files you need does not constitute a problem with the mod. Bug reports reporting any of these "issues" will be deleted.

Installation instructions:
To install, place the nativePC folder in your Monster Hunter World folder, or place the contents of the nativePC folder into your own nativePC if you already have one. To install add ons, just merge the files of the add on with the base Part Replacer file. Do not install add ons with the Weapon Tree Version.

If you installed any of my other mods and are prompted to replace files when installing this one, don't worry. I made all of these mods at the same time, so there are a few global files that show up in all of them. So it won't matter if you do or don't replace these files. I discourage installing both versions of the mod at once or installing add on files to the Weapon Tree version, though.

The visual effects of this mod will only effect your game, and it is safe to use online. Also, if you want to use one version and your friend wants to use another, fear not, it will work just fine.

To uninstall, I recommend just deleting the whole nativePC folder, but if that's not an option, delete natvePC>wp, nativePC>common>equip, and nativePC>common>text>steam.
If you're using an old version of the mod (from before the 2.0 update), just delete nativePC>wp.
