The mod works, but it works too good. Deleting the file from the nativePC folder doesn't seem to stop gold crowns from appearing. Anyone knows how to uninstall this mod?
Gold Crown monsters can still appear without the mod, y'know. Removing the file from nativePC should definitely disable the mod, but if you ran into a gold crown right after that, it was naturally that way. Are you doing event battles or something? A lot of event monsters are crown-size one way or other.
I was finishing up optional MR6* quests, like 'we run this town' and 'the storm brings the unexpected' and the monster were all suspiciously large or small. I know I can't be 100% certain of my claim that the mod is still active despite deleting the file because I don't have a sure way of measuring the moster sizes, so maybe I should have taken more data.
I have finished playing the game after getting the crowns achievements, which I greatly thank you and your mod for (<3), so this issue is not a great deal for me.
It doesn't need repairing. If you've removed the file this mod adds then the game will revert to the default odds from the original version in the chunk archives. If you're still getting loads of large crown monsters without this mod installed then it isn't this mod causing it.
Is there any chance of having a now crown mod? I couldnt give a rats. as.s. about this achievement. Large monsters specifically ruin the hunt for me. I would rather have all in fixed size.
I've added a 100% Small Crown size version under Optional Files (it is the same file though, so it replaces the main one). To be more precise, I added that because I got tired of the huge monsters myself and figured I'd prefer if they were all tiny... so since I made it for myself, I decided to share.
I have a problem is that I already have all the gold crowns and I obtained the base achievement for crowns, but Iceborne doesn't give it to me and I already have all the monsters with crowns. I am at level 169 master rank, what do I do?
Looks like it still works, just did LR PUKEI PUKEI and got small crown followed by a big one.
On the other hand, i didn't get anything whild doing the MR6 Alpha Brachy/bazel, maybe it's part of the quest that don't get anything since you said it works only for "most quests". Just started using the mod today so i'll find later on if it really still works or if i got extremely lucky on that pukei pukei.
Were you hosting? Not sure if I need to mention... but this only works with hunts you're hosting yourself. If you join someone else's hunt (or at least someone else not using a size mod), they still have the normal probabilities of spawning crown monsters (which is to say rather low). Also some of the event quests have their own size settings. I believe some might even force normal sizes. Just a thought.
As I recall, I set it to be 50/50 odds, at least for most quests. Quests draw from different tables though, and I only set 50/50 for cases where there was at least SOME chance of running into a crown monster. But if you have something like an Event Quest that spawns super tiny monsters, they will never be large crown, even with the mod. Likewise if you're hunting on Low Rank then you probably won't have any chance of crown sizes for most monsters.
why don't you just make it so it detect if i already have a large or small gold crown? like if i have large gold crown for jagras then next time i hunt jagras its a guaranteed small gold crown i hunt pink rathian 5 time and i keep not getting large gold crown for it but first time i hunt it i got small gold crown but because its 50/50 i need to hunt it multiple time before i completed it.
Because it doesn't work like that. There is just a file with different categories that different quests are assigned to, and each category has a table with the odds of each given size a monster can be. And all I did was just remove all the odds for middle sizes, and change the odds to 50% for smallest size, 50% for largest size for each category. Just that. It doesn't reference what you have or haven't encountered already. To do that would require it be something more than it is... which is to say more than just a bunch of tables in a file.
Besides event quests that explicitly use particular sizes of monster, it should be any quest that has the monster you want in, or expeditions, or investigations.
what quest does it work?? were do you put in file? were does stracks goes and how does it open? if i use hunterpie will i se it imidiatly or am i forced to kill monster to generate the crown?

@soticoto did you successfully revert this mod back to normal odds? if so, how did you do it?
nevermind just delete the mod file from nativePC. it will go back to normal odds. thanks for making this ~!To be more precise, I added that because I got tired of the huge monsters myself and figured I'd prefer if they were all tiny... so since I made it for myself, I decided to share.

You can also use this mod instead, which does the same thing, but has other options.
