About this mod

Makes all weapons tenderize in one finisher. Before this light weapons need to do the finisher twice to tenderize/weaken. This corrects this gameplay mistake.

Makes all weapons tenderize in one finisher. Before this light weapons need to do the finisher twice to tenderize/weaken.

This is a milder version of the console patches that have been already rolled out where SnS and DB get tenderizing moves that aren't part of the claw, have extremely high motion values and take considerably less time and setup to tenderize and do it as part of their combos. The tenderizing mechanic was extremely criticized by all of the higher level playerbase (meaning speedrunners and build analysts) most of who agree that giving light weapon tenderization while beneficial is hardly significant to alter the balance in any way. LBG is not spontaneously going to pull ahead of HBG or any heavy weapon just because it can have less of a headache while attempting to play the game. Same for every other light weapon affected.

Additionally heavy weapons like hammer have tenderization as part of combos which finish using the claw into a tenderizing move. Hammer is a heavy weapon that can tenderize in one hit faster than any light weapon can tenderize. On top of that it gets one of the highest damage values in the game when doing this. Gunlance, a light weapon meanwhile has an animation longer than any heavy and is forced to spend more time trying to apply the status than actually playing the game.

If you notice you haven't tenderized it's because the monster moves and some of your hits land on other parts. This is something heavy weapons have as well so it's kept for balance reasons.

Requires stracker nativePC loader found here.
