About this mod

Instead of element dealing its own form of damage, it is instead treated as a raw boost on your weapon depending on its effectiveness, making element viable for heavy weapons. Has very little impact on light weapons.

Like most my mods, this will only work as long as the lobby host has the mod. Any non-hosts without the mod may still fall under the effects of it if the host has the mod installed.

What does this mod do?
In simple terms, element is converted into raw damage based on how effective it is against the given monster.

Ok, how about the advanced description?
Depending on the elemental hitzone of a monster, the element of your weapon is added (or reducted) as a boost to your weapon's raw damage accordingly:

0: Attack - 100% element
1 - 5: Attack - 75% element
6 - 10: Attack (no change)
11 - 15: Attack + 75% element
16 - 20: Attack + 100% element
>20: Attack + 125% element

If you use freezer speartuna for example (150 raw, 70 ice element):
on a 0 hitzone, it is treated as having 80 raw damage (150 - (100% of element = 70))
on a 12 hitzone, it is treated as having 203 raw damage (150 + (75% of element = 53))
on a 18 hitzone, it is treated as having 220 raw damage (150 + (100% of element = 70))
on a 30 hitzone, it is treated as having 238 raw damage (150 + (125% of element = 88))

How much of a boost is it?
For most light weapons which benefitted from element already, hitting an effective hitzone should make very little difference, and for something like dual blades, for example, there's typically an increase between 1 to 5 damage. However, on heavy weapons such as greatsword, damage can go as far as being doubled against effective hitzones.

Does this nerf anything at all?
The mod has been tested to some extent, and in no cases did I find a reduction in damage from the original when hitting a good elemental hitzone. The only major nerf happens when using an ineffective element, but this is intentional.
