About this mod
Brings Static Charge, a brand new skill concept.
Static Charge:
Evading charges up the element and status of your weapon. Hitting a monster discharges it over time. Sheathing your weapon ends the effect prematurely.
- Requirements
- Permissions and credits
Due to the new system of adding skills, it is recommended that ALL players in the lobby have the mod. People won't crash if they don't have it, but it will quite likely render the skill ineffective.
This mod:
- Creates a brand new Static Jewel, which contains the skill Static Charge. (Uses deco ID 100)
- Gives Static Charge to the following armors with the following levels:
Kadachi Helm S: Level 1
Tobi-Kadachi Coil S: Level 2 - The recipe of the Static Jewel is as follows:
5 Aquaglow Jewel
3 Felyne Fur Ruby
2 Tobi Kadachi Pelt+
2 Tobi Kadachi Electrode+
(For once, you can't cheat by crafting them before getting the mod!) - The recipe is unlocked upon killing Tobi-Kadachi.
- There are 3 levels to the skill, each improving on the charging effect.
Known Issues:
- Some text is missing from certain screens.
What is Static Charge?
Taken directly from the in-game description:
Evading charges up the element and status of your weapon. Hitting a monster discharges it over time. Sheathing your weapon ends the effect prematurely.
Any evade, by the same definition as Bladescale Hone, grants a stackable, percentagewise boost to your weapon's elemental and status effects. Upon hitting an enemy with a hit that inflicts elemental or status damage, the effect of the skill triggers and the element of your weapon stays boosted for a short duration. Sheathing you weapon while the effect is active will prematurely end it. If you sheathe before triggering the effect, the elemental boost stays.
At level 1, each dodge charges your weapon with +5% extra elemental and status effect, and upon hitting an enemy, the effect lasts for 5 seconds.
At level 2, the effect lasts for 10 seconds instead, and additionally, every level of Evade Extender grants a +1 flat boost per dodge, up to a total of +3 per dodge with evade extender 3.
At level 3, each dodge grants +10% extra elemental and status effect instead of +5%.
(You can also check the images section for the full in-game description).
What counts as an evade?
Anything that is a dodge. This includes the regular roll, wirefall, mid-air jumps, sidesteps and lance steps.
Tactical tips:
- This skill works great for filling in damage downtimes. Whenever you are busy avoiding the monster or waiting for an opening, dodge around to charge up for when you start attacking again.
- If you trigger the effect with low charge, you can always sheathe your weapon to start a new charge. You can't charge at all while the effect is triggered, so timing is key.
- Since this skill is intended to change playstyles a bit, mixing it with Bladescale Hone might not be too bad of an idea, since dodging becomes much more commonplace. Additionally, you might even be able to drop out on Bladescale Hone lv 3, simply due to how often its effect will trigger making up for the subpar sharpening amount.
- The Evade Extender combo for lv 2 is beneficial depending on how high element you already have. If your weapon has low elemental power, the percentagewise boost may be too low to make up for the effort to charge. On the other hand, the flat boost may be redundant to the percentagewise boost if your weapon already has high element.
