About this mod

Improves motion values for most attacks and increases shelling level across all gunlances by 1 making more Gunlances a competitive choice, especially in the lategame

We all know Gunlance in Rise is really fun, but it was done dirty in terms of power. This mod does two things:

1. Increases motion values of all attacks, specifically:

  • All attack Motion Values raised by roughly 20% (aka all direct Gunlance attacks now hit roughly 20% harder)
  • Bigger MV adjustment for Slam and Sideslap (around 30%) to make the old, core Gunlance combo a more appealing option compared to the current Blast Dash spam into Full Burst. The latter is probably still better, but now at least it doesn't feel like you're handicapping yourself if you want to play a different way, or just freestyle.

2. Raised Shelling Level across the board for all Gunlances by 1, from the earliest ones to the final rarities. Gunlances that were already at level 8 stayed the exact same. This does two distinct things:

  • It vastly increases the amount of weapons that have level 8 shelling on their final upgrade, which means you now have an actual selection of weapons for endgame builds, not just the usual couple standouts that are obviously better than the rest.
  • Shelling becomes slightly more powerful when progressing through the game. More of a side effect really, but it doesn't hurt. Not a big difference anyway.

Tested on the newest version of the game with Fluffy Manager and RE Framework. If you are afraid this makes Gunlance too powerful, don't worry. It's still nowhere close the top tier options. This mod isn't trying to make Gunlance competitive, it simply tries to take it from the bottom spot and put it more in the middle of the pack, as well as fixing the issue with lack of viable weapon options.
